My July 2018 Playlist

Another month, more music.

This is an odd mix of Theater, Country, Pop, and Indie, but I'm here for it.

1. Weak- AJR

This was a radio hit that was played constantly this month -- either over the work radio or my brother's playlist. I found it stuck in my head 99% of the time, but it's a bop so no complaints.

2. David Ashley Parker From Powder Springs- Travis Denning

This is a good country song that made me laugh out loud the first time I heard it. It's the story of a small town boy getting his first fake ID. Really just a feel good song.

3. There Was This Girl- Riley Green

This song caught my attention as soon as I heard it. I love fun country songs that progress chronologically and tell a story verse-by-verse, and with this song, Riley Green perfectly tells the story of falling for girl after girl, until he found the one.

4. Look At You- Seth Ennis

Seth Ennis caught my attention immediately with this one. I'm a sucker for the recent pop-meets-country genre, and this falls perfectly in there.

5. Beautiful Crazy- Luke Combs

This was shown to me by my best friend, and as soon as I heard the opening line, "Her day starts with a coffee, and ends with a wine," I was hooked. One of those songs you just want a man to sing about you, yunno?

6. ILYSB- LANY

This song (and the next one) were shown to me by a friend, and at first I wasn't sure the indie pop vibe was for me, but it has definitely grown on me.

7. Super Far- LANY

Off the same album, recommended by the same friend, definitely a bop.

8. Houston, We Got A Problem- Luke Combs

This song was recommended to me when I mentioned liking Beautiful Crazy. Honestly, it's probably my least favorite of this playlist, but I really do enjoy anything Luke Combs is singing.

9. Must've Never Met You- Luke Combs

This song is just plain RELATABLE to anyone that's been through a break up. The line that gets me every time is ",must've never heard you say you'd never leave me, then watch you walk away," because, boy, I felt that.

10. The Other Side- Hugh Jackman & Zac Efron

I am very late to the game, but I finally watched The Greatest Showman this month, and this was an instant favorite as soon as the scene came on. I also find it constantly stuck in my head.

11. This Is Me- Keala Settle & The Greatest Showman Ensemble

This is another favorite from the movie, just because of the strong, beautiful message behind it.

12. Rewrite The Stars- Zac Efron & Zendaya

Another Greatest Showman favorite, because, who can resist Zac & Zendaya?

13. From Now On- Hugh Jackman & The Greatest Showman Ensemble

This is the last of the Greatest Showman songs (I swear).

14. Intentions- Macklemore & Dan Caplen

While gearing up for a Macklemore concert, I dove into his newest alum (that I embarrassingly have not listened to nearly enough), Gemeni, and found this gem. The opening verse caught my attention, and it's truly something we can all relate to.

15. Body Language- Cherub

I can't resist anything Cherub. They have captured my heart, and this newest single is no exception.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
