Instead of the third part of the current story, this week is something a bit different.

So last time, we know that our group has made their way through some early trials, and just to keep you guys in suspense, I thought that I would post a playlist this week. Something you can listen to while you re-read the last ten entries for the story. Just as a warning, some of the following songs have some suggestive themes and such, so listen at your own will.

[ The Playlist ]

1. 'Control' - Halsey

The first song on the playlist is an interesting one.The song is one about fighting for control over one's self. Kava is fighting for control over herself on what her mother wants her to be and what she wants, and I really do think the song fits well.

2. 'Rise' - Katy Perry

A song about having to step up to what has to be done. Having to step up to wage war on your own mother is something that is very scary, and I feel the song describes a feeling of unsure preparedness, but willing to do what is needed.

3. 'My Shot' - Hamilton

This song does speak to a friendship that our group has built and the spot of Alexander is greatly filled by Kava in this sense, while also the spot of Laurens is filled by the former Thornspitter. Alexander’s want to be a part of something greater, some change speaks to Kava’s own want to continue on what Thorn started and do good.

4. 'The Good, The Bad and The Dirty' - Panic at the Disco

Now, this isn’t too much about Kava herself, but more so the group as a whole and their own fights. There’s not too much that I can say on this without giving off own information for future entries, but it is a fun song to listen to in the meanwhile.

5. 'History Has Its Eyes On You' - Hamilton

This is a song now more focused on the budding new found relationship between Kava and Her father. Rohorn is a battle trained man and listening to this song, it gives off the sense of Rohorn passing on his own knowledge and confidence to his daughter.

6. 'Castle' - Halsey

What could be a better song to describe what’s going on within the story, than this one? A song about storming a castle, taking what back what belongs to you and it overall gives this a more action movie feel to it.

7. 'How Far I’ll Go' - Alessia Cara

While this song is meant for a princess by the water, I feel that this does truly counter the thoughts in the first song on this playlist. Kava’s more positive outlook on her future being what she chooses and though adventure calls her, Where it will take her will be her choice.

8. 'The Greatest' - SIA

Knowing what can only ahead of this leg of her journey, and knowing soon that she’ll be free of the influence of her mother, this speaks to fact that she’s “ free to be the greatest to be the greatest.” and she doesn’t need tainted magic to do that.

9. 'Light ‘Em Up' - Fall Out Boy

Another sort of action packed song, to this one, speaks more to Kava herself. Most of the spells that she uses tend to be fire based and it alludes to some qualities that she has that aren’t befitting of a noble girl or even a holy woman.

10. 'Proud' - Todrick Hall

This is the final song of the playlist and it speaks to her stronger relationship to her religion. It gives a deeper peek into how she feels about her religion and her faith in her god.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
