Was it his jump start career in "21 Jump Street," his legendary role in "Edward Scissorhands," or his unforgettable leading role in Pirates of the Caribbean? Who can say what started Johnny Depp’s career, all I know is he is the golden actor of our years. Born in the year of 1963, Johnny spent most of his childhood growing up in Owensboro, Kentucky. He didn’t always have his eyes on television. Instead, Johnny spent his teen years rocking out in classical rock bands. Somewhere down the line, he got introduced into television, which made him into the edgy actor we know of today.
It was the summer of 2011, June 12. I had to have been no older than nine years old. I don’t remember much about that day, just spending time in my family room with my mother. My eyes were so glued to the TV that my mother was threatened to take me away from the screen. I set so close to the television that I knew my eyes would eventually go blind; all I wanted was just to see the image a little clearly. However, what lead in front of me was a weird man that had bad manners and appear to be a little twisted, but I didn’t mind. I was so thrilled about the character he was playing, that all my attention was on him. Pirates of the Caribbean was the movie that introduced me to the legendary Johnny Depp. Since that movie, he's changed my life. I’ve been stalking him like a hawk, just waiting to see the next big role he’s going to be in; I guess one can say he became a role model to me. It was more then just the movies he played in that hook me, it was the personality he brought to the characters he played that caught my attention.
Furthermore, what is there that Johnny Depp can’t do? He’s intelligent man, a triple threat and good looking everything that actor should be in the public eye. You try to run around with blades of fingers like he did, play a character that is weird and goofy as he is and my personal favorite tell him to act like a legendary bank robber and he becomes it. Johnny Depp is legendary not for the movies he plays, but for the art that he brings to the TV screen. For example movies like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," "Alice in Wonderland," "Public Enemies," etc. There is nothing that he can’t do; he is and will forever be the “Superman of our TV screens."
