Most college kids love the idea of having money in their pockets while home for break, however, that means that we need to find work.

Unfortunately applying to jobs over break is the absolute worst, and if you are looking for work you are either unemployed or unhappy with your current job. Believe me when I tell you that being unemployed isn't a walk in the park, and those who hate waking up in the morning to go to work could be thankful they don't have to go through the process of job hunting.

The whole process of finding, applying, and interviewing for a job is just a complete hassle. Personally, I applied to over 31 places in the valley, hell I finally made a resume, and for half the break I got no response my calls and emails weren't returned and I wondered what went wrong? Was it that I just suck and no one wants to hire me? should I reapply? Well eventually I came to realize a few fundamental truths:

Number one, the job search resembles the process of dating, its very personal and your parents are constantly up your ass making it a thousand times more complicated /stressful. The second truth I learned was that NO-ONE wants to hire someone temporarily. Unfortunately most people want full-time workers and not college kids who will be gone within the next five weeks therefore, I often thought to myself that it would be great if companies bluntly told applicants that they'd just be sitting around for months and a "sorry we wasted your time " or a "the position has been filled/ no longer hiring" email would be fantastic.

The third thing I learned is that the interviewing process is pointless because you stress over pre-rehearsed answers to dumb questions and have to dress uncomfortably because of its some unspoken rule that you have to wear clothes that you normally wouldn't to just bullshit the hell out of that interview.

The fourth truth is when you think that you nailed the interview and they say " We will let you know" yea you better try searching somewhere else because odds are THEY WON'T LET YOU KNOW ANYTHING and it's a lost cause because you will NEVER hear back.

The final truth I learned is that JOB HUNTING SUCKS! And it doesn't matter the lengths you go through, job searching will always be complicated. you can jump through thousands of flaiming hoops but in the end you will always get burned when trying to find a job over winter break.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
