Everyone has come across the gorgeous beach boy at least once while on Instagram, and if not, go do yourself a favor and follow him on Instagram: @jayalvarrez. Best known for his adventurous lifestyle and risk-taking behavior— all caught on camera and mostly edited by himself, most of which he claims they represent his dreams. With summer around the corner, I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling adventurous. This is how you can achieve that in the most Jay Alvarrez fashion possible.

1. Get out of your comfort zone!!

Calling all adrenaline junkies! This one is for you. It could be anything from skydiving to cage diving with sharks (I’ve personally done this and it’s a must.) YES, it is terrifying, but it will make your trip that much more memorable!

2. Bring your whole entourage.

Bring the whole gang with you! Nothing better than sharing everlasting memories with friends. “Remember when..." No, Jeffrey, I don’t remember. Jk, not really though.

3. Go somewhere topical!!!

Where the water is as blue as the sky on a cloudless day and you can catch a golden brown tan. Who needs clothes when you can just permanently live in your swimsuit? I don't know about you but sounds like heaven to me.

4. Eat like an island prince/princess...

Mmm, doesn’t that look delicious! I’m not just talking about the food.

5. Ohana means family.

There is no better way to get a sense of another one's culture than by becoming friends with others from another culture! Mix in with the locals and always support local businesses no matter where you are in the world. Take it from the man himself—his contractor from Hawaii now lives with him. You can follow him at @charleythecontractor on Instagram.

6. Attend a festival.

Festival season is upon us and an absolute must to attend! Dust off your flower crowns and get your glittery ass to a festival.

7. Have no regrets, whatsoever.

Something spontaneous you really want to do? Do it! You want no regrets thinking back on your summer vacay.

8. Take photos and videos!

We were blessed with technology, now is the time to use it. Jay Alvarrez makes thousands of dollars from doing exactly this! His job is a constant holiday! Go check out his new video on YouTube about how he got to be where he is today. Damn, and here I am worrying about my midterms.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
