I have always enjoyed school, but not always returning to school. Once I get into the rhythm of homework and projects, I am grateful for the routine. I am able to see my friends on a daily basis, and spend my time doing things I normally enjoy. However, college has been a bit of a change. I could not wait to go back to school. Part of this is because I had a job that required me to lead approximately 25 employees in the art of food service in an amusement park. I quickly realized that I missed going to class on a regular basis, singing in choir, and rehearsing my pieces for speech and debate. I was ready to return to the small town college that has become my second home.
College has given me opportunities that I had never thought possible. I truly feel as though I have found a community of people that I feel a part of. Every talent is acknowledged, and there is a support system for everyone who needs one. I love being a part of such a close group of students and faculty. I attend a small liberal arts college, and I appreciate to no end the benefits this gives me.
I am ready to begin classes, and to return to the routine I have learned to appreciate. I have missed so much about my school while I have been away. I have missed my sorority sisters, as well as the friends I made during my first year of college. My first year of college was full of new experiences. I lived away from home for the first time, I created my own bedtime, and I was able to make my own decisions. I believe that every year will only improve from this point on. Here's to a new year!
