Frankly, I am so tired of hearing "girls who wear makeup aren't actually pretty," or "wearing makeup is deceitful." If someone is being "deceived" by my gold eyelids and crimson lips, they're the one with the problem.
Is it unattractive to wear clothes because you are hiding your all natural nakedness? Who are you trying to impress by going out into the world wearing clothes? Is that deceiving the world? You're actually naked, we all know that you are wearing clothes because you are ashamed of your nakedness. Are you hiding your true identity by getting dressed?
Every morning when I wake up, I sit down at my desk and I do my makeup. I find this to be one of the most enjoyable parts of my day. I love applying makeup to my face not because I am insecure about how I look without makeup on, or because I am trying to impress someone, but because I enjoy starting off my morning by making myself feel good. I like seeing that I evenly shadowed my eyes and achieved the perfect line of highlight on my cheek. So what if I get excited to use my beauty blender? That is nothing to be ashamed of. I consider applying makeup to be a form of art, and every day I get to make myself a different masterpiece. How cool is that?
While it is true that some people wear makeup because of their facial insecurities, such as scars, dark circles underneath their eyes, patchy eyebrows, short eyelashes, etc., why does it matter? If wearing makeup is what empowers someone for their day, who are you to tear them down?
If a girl is no longer considered beautiful because she wears makeup, history's beauties need to be discredited. The majority of the women our society deems beautiful wear makeup. Marilyn Monroe often wore her winged eyeliner and red-lip and was considered a "bombshell". Another timeless beauty, Audrey Hepburn, was also a wearer of makeup yet, she was still considered gorgeous. These women are considered stunning and gorgeous, even though they wear makeup. Society needs to treat all females this way.
If you shave your legs, brush your teeth, dressing nicely, shower, etc., you are doing the exact same thing people do when they wear makeup. You make yourself feel good, by presenting yourself the best way you can. Wearing makeup is not about impressing people. Girls do it for themselves, so please, stop hating on girls and their makeup.
