One day there were crowds, millions and millions of people shouting and cheering.
Families, of men, women, and children, all gathered to rejoice, and celebrate.
Welcoming and inviting.
Imagine a day with everyone you love gathered together, to celebrate the coming of an exciting new guest.
Everyone you know is there to see this guest and welcome them in right along with you.
People on their best behavior and smiles from ear to ear, because today is a good day.
A true celebration.
Where no matter what differences, opinions, or social status everyone is there to see, to watch, and welcome this guest with sheer joy and excitement.
Now we all put on our best behavior for a celebration, particularly one with friends and family, but if we're honest most of us aren't always on our best behavior.
We all have our quirks, and flaws that can make us unbearable, and unpleasant to be around.
I think if we were fully honest we'd admit no matter what good we do in this life, we aren't perfect, and therefore we make mistakes and can't always be considered "good people."
And if we're really, really honest we'd admit we're more like sinners, hypocrites, liars, cheaters, and thieves.
We all want what we can't have, lie our way out of things, say one thing and do another, and take what doesn't belong to us.
We don't deserve the love we get, or the blessings this life has to offer because we know if we're honest, we don't always give our best and show all of our love.
We love to love when we're excited, or happy when we're celebrating or among those we care for.
But what if I told you those same people standing beside you, as you cheered and welcomed the coming of an honored guest, all one day joined together to mock, spit on, and beat that very same guest?
A man who had done no wrongwas innocent of all charges,
who was one day welcomed, was the next day being sentenced to death, and you were apart of it.
Suddenly the cheers of joy and excitement that happened that one day, had now turned to yelling, cursing, and hate.
We like to think our actions don't always have consequences, but they do, whether they hurt us or not, someone reaps the consequences.
A man died that day because it was between you or Him.
Someone has to receive the consequences.
Sin is an ugly, dirty thing.
It ruins lives, it hurts other people, destroys who we are, and effects more than just one person.
