He really wasn't sure how it happened but somehow between the stares and smiles that he gave her, he somehow convinced her to give him her number. He stood outside the bar for a few minutes contemplating what he was going to say. He had gotten girls number before but this one gave him a sort of anxiety that he could not really grasp. Should he abide by three day rule? Would she think it's weird if he texted her after 2a.m.? Did she give him a fake number? All these thoughts rushed through his head. He decided to just go for it.
"Hey, it's Jason from the bar :) )" He questioned sending the smiley face but deep down he knew it was the right call. He figured she was asleep by this point and was expecting a response tomorrow morning. However, right as he was about to get into his car he felt his phone vibrate. It was her.
"Well hey there ;) I didn't think I would hear from you so soon" she replied. His heart stopped. The amount of importance he put behind that winky face was definitely not healthy. He knew he had to play it cool, I mean he had only said less than 50 words to this girl and yet he was already way to excited. He decided to drive home then text her in order to not seem so desperate. He used the drive to figure out what he was going to say to her
"What are you still doing up? I thought I was the only one who was up this late here haha" And with that message he went to bed. Jason knew that if he stayed up all night texting her tomorrow would be miserable. The next morning he reached over and checked his phone. He had a few random emails, some Facebook notifications but that was it. "She must have gone to sleep," he thought. He went for a run and figured he would hear from her later. Sometime in the afternoon he checked his phone and let out a huge smile. She not only texted him back but decided to follow him on snapchat as well.
"I was out late with my friends and lost track of time haha, also sorry about falling asleep on you :) ) She said.
"Oh man giving me your number and following me on snap, you must really like me haha, and no worries about it. I crashed soon after" He replied. They texted for a while, and when he went to the bar all he wanted was for her to walk in. She was going out with her friends and informed him that they most likely wouldn't be going there that night. She didn't respond to his last message for a while but as his shift was getting closer to the end he looked at his phone
"Want to meet up after your shift?" As he read that his heart leaped from his chest. This was his chance.
"Yeah definitely, I am off around 2 so anytime around then should be good just let me know when you are here" He finished cleaning up and made himself a drink to calm his nerves while he waited. It was part of his ritual that he always had one drink before meeting someone. He was talking with his coworkers when he felt his phone ring. Dayna popped up on the screen. He looked outside and saw her car pull up to the front of the bar. He pounded down his drink and walked out the door.
