One of the most stressful things about being a college student is figuring out what your major is and what you want to do with it after you graduate.
Even though it seems like there are numerous options, sometimes simply choosing one is not so easy. I think there's sometimes so much pressure to pick a major within a certain amount of time. I have learned slowly that there is no need to rush. And trying more than one thing is okay and necessary.
Some people know exactly what they want and have it all planned out in their head. I came to college with an idea of what I wanted to do, and I was able to explore and expand upon that. However, not everyone comes to college feeling that sure and confident. Sometimes it seems like all everyone talks about is what their major is and what they will do with their life after college.
This is very important and exciting but it is also a very serious decision. When it comes to what you want to do and what you want to spend your life doing, it is totally necessary to take your time and take as many classes from different subjects as possible. College is also a time to figure out who you are what your interests are. It is a lot to juggle at once and sometimes it can all seem too fast or rushed. We are young and we are going to change our minds about so many things over and over.
I don’t think students get told enough that it will all be okay. It is going to work out. You do not have to know all the answers right now. There are many decisions to make and it can be difficult to work them all out but don’t get in a hurry. You will end up exactly where you are supposed to be.
