Do you constantly compare yourself to others and worry, worry, worry about what other people think? Do you buy certain things or put certain things away just because it’s the “cool” thing to do?

I don’t know about you, but I know I do.

I find myself worrying about what other people think rather than choosing what I want to do. I honestly didn’t realize how much I did this until I was shopping with my sister and I asked her opinion on a shirt (that I secretly liked right when I tried it on) but when I came out and she shrugged her shoulder with an “ehhh”, I put the shirt back on the hanger.

I didn’t get the shirt that was cute to me just because one other person said it wasn’t their favorite.

After looking back on it, that’s when I decided you know what, it’s a new year and it’s time to be confident. Not just confident in the clothes I wear, but in everything I do. Now don’t get me wrong though, if I’m wearing something that truly doesn’t look good on me, please do tell me!

It’s time to stop letting all those other voices influence you and do truly what you and your heart desires.

It’s time to step up and actually listen to that gut feeling you get.

We all know in any and every situation you have that gut feeling on what you should do or not do. It’s almost as if that gut feeling is God within you. He always there telling you what is right and will always tell you the truth. So it’s time to stand up and be confident and trust that feeling.

Sometimes it’s hard to go down a different path than everyone else and you may feel all alone at the time, but believing in yourself and having confidence that this is all apart of His plan will only bring you great joy.

Have confidence in all that you do and you can never lose. Although you may lose the game, lose a friend, or not get that job, but staying confident will only make you stronger along with the others around you. It’s like a chain reaction.

There are going to be many bumps in the road, and many bumps in this new year, but if we start out confident and trust ourselves in all that we do, there is no doubt that this year can be the best year yet. Put that coffee in one hand and confidence in the other and nothing can stop you!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
