T.V. shows like Sherlock and Lie to Me have always intrigued many because so much of it has to do with deduction and the study of people. If you haven't seen either show, I'd recommend both, they are amazing. Back to the point, while no one can be at the level of Sherlock Holmes or Dr. Lightman, observing people has become a pass time for many an introvert. However, as with many things, being too observant can be a curse as well as a blessing. Here are some issues that come hand-in-hand with being too observant.

1. When you get caught staring at someone because you're studying them...

Things can get really awkward...just be calm and look away fast!

2. When you surprise someone (creep them out) because you know so much about their habits

Just because you've sat there watching them for the past few minutes...no big deal.

3. You end up becoming super sensitive to the other person's reactions to things

Ever heard of something called micro-expressions? If not look it up it's pretty cool.

4. You get slightly annoyed with people don't see what you see

Even if all you've done is just study the person for like ten minutes but it still kind of annoys you.

5. You try not to judge people based on what you've seen

But let's be honest it happens more often that we care to admit.

6. You get sucked into observing people and you end up never interacting with them

7. If someone asks you to tell them a little about them you go full on Sherlock

And get super giddy when you find out if you're right. It becomes like a game for you.

8. You forget that you're the super observant one and sometimes it hurts when people don't notice things about you

Sometimes.

9. People get intensely curious as to how you perceive them

Okay maybe not that intense.

10. You aren't as observant as you think sometime.

Humans are weird and complicated so don't be discouraged.

11. You think you know when someone is lying 100% of the time

Which is not always the case. People are not as easy to read as you think.

There is no way that you can completely comprehend a person from just studying them. If you are observant, it isn't a bad thing just try your best to not be a wallflower and interact with your friends. Have fun, don't just watch people having fun.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
