Learning To Live With Intention

-

Live With Good Intention.

What gives your life meaning?

What drives you to do the things that you do?

In our generation we get so busy worrying and questioning the purpose of our life.

While traveling through a city called Tzfat in Israel my tour guide introduced me to the word KAVANA. He explained it as the sincere intention behind your actions, or direction of the heart. He said that when you live with intention, you create the life you want to live and the person you are.

Who you are can be boiled down to two things: the actions you take and your intention behind those actions.

When you decide to set pure intention behind your actions, your life will change.

You won't waste a day living a mindless life, carrying out tasks just for the sake of doing so. You can choose to live a life with meaning, that comes from your heart. You will relearn how it feels to truly care, and remember what it's like to invest yourself in something like you did as a child.

When you are pure with your intentions, you can be confident that every choice you make is the right one.

Your intention will separate you from the negativity of others and you will shift your mindset. This mindset is a choice, and practicing positive thought behind your action will take time. But every effort towards positivity is a step in the right direction!

You can live through intention in every aspect of your life. Here are a few ways to make the shift:

1. Verbal affirmations.

Set an intention for yourself every morning to have a peaceful and productive day. Repeat this affirmation to yourself in the morning while you are getting ready, and feel the excitement of a new day. If you arrive at work and are faced with a problem, come back to your intention and handle the task with confidence in knowing that it will be resolved.

2. Clear communication.

Set an intention for your relationships to be filled with love and honesty. Speak only words that you mean and express your true thoughts. You have the power to create a strong healthy relationship, as long as both partners are genuine and aware of the others needs.

3. Decide to care.

Set an intention to brighten another person's day. You can do this by holding on to the intention to give. Give without the intention of receiving. Give complements to your friends or a stranger. Encourage the people you work with by reminding them how much you appreciate them. Remain thoughtful and understand that you are not alone on this earth, and you have the power to influence those around you.

4. Create a world you want to live in.

When you live through your hearts intention you are actively putting good into the world. Humans are a collective conscience- each person that betters themselves betters all of us!

You have the ability to set the precedent for who you are and what you focus on. The choices you make will project your true inner thoughts and you will manifest the life that you want.

One foot behind the other, you got this.

Enjoy your day

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
