Food For Thought: How These Food Instas Will Redefine Your Palette
Instagram

Our society revolves around two things: technology and food. So what could be better than combining them? Food porn has flooded our news feeds on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and above all--the Holy Grail--Instagram. These flavorful accounts inspire us to either try to become the next Bobby Flay or venture out to new restaurants and cafés. Whatever path you might take, I’m sure that before you stab your fork into your meal, you will snap a perfectly angled and, soon-to-be edited photo. You never know, you could end up the next trending food Instagram account.

If you're looking to expand your followers on Instagram and overflow your newsfeed with incredibly delicious, to-die-for foods and desserts, here is a list of food porn accounts you should be following:

@food_ilysm

This account features foods from Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Madison, WI. They give you a little bit of everything from savory mac n’ cheeses, to sweet ice creams and cakes. If they don’t get your mouth watering, I don’t know if anyone will.

@thenaughtyfork

Making the Miami heat even hotter is @thenaughtyfork, which will stimulate your taste buds to a whole new level. You might encounter heart palpitations from its bacon wrapped, fried and beautifully presented sushi rolls to its decadent cookie dough-filled double fudge brownie.

@imshtuffed

The account name is pretty self-explanatory. You could become full just by looking at their endless burgers, sandwiches, pancakes, etc. The coolest part about this account is that their posts come from college students all over the globe sporting their school spirit and favorite meals!

@thevulgarchef

They tell it like it is, literally! The Vulgar Chef provides clever, dirty captions to pair with their mouth-watering posts of deep fried cheeseburgers, stuffed wings, and ice cream cone tacos. You could gain fifty pounds just by looking at these photos!

@foodintheair

If you have never caught someone taking a picture of her breakfast sandwich, s’mores, or slice of pizza while holding it, then you are that person. This account presents their amazing posts with an appropriate and appealing background. At a baseball game? Take a picture of your pretzel with an out-of-focus shot of the diamond behind.

Last and most certainly not least:

@bingufoodie

To all of my fellow Bearcats, Binghamton residents, and restaurant owners, this new account features some of our area's most delectable dishes from Lost Dog Cafe's Rigatoni Alla Vodka to the personal pizzas from Pandini’s in the Union. All of the account's posts are provided by their followers. So get involved and be sure to send them a picture of your next trip to The Colonial or Sweet Frog!

If you didn't eat before reading this article, I would highly recommend stuffing your face with some of the foods inspired by these indulgent accounts!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
