After fourteen long years of waiting, Disney has finally released a sequel to "The Incredibles". Fans had been clamoring for this sequel for a long time, and for good reason. "The Incredibles" is one of the most popular Pixar movies ever made, and the first movie ended with fans wanting more adventures with the Parr family.
Personally, I'm so excited that Disney decided to make a second Incredibles movie. I loved the first movie and thought the second one was just as good as the original. However, as much as I loved "The Incredibles 2", there is another Disney movie that should definitely get its own sequel.
The next Disney movie to get a sequel should be "Inside Out."
Inside Out is one of Pixar's best movies. It tells the story of an eleven-year-old girl named Riley and how her emotions, who control Riley's actions in her brain, are affected by her family moving from Minnesota to San Francisco. The movie is beautifully animated, hilarious and fun, and teaches the audience a very important lesson about a person's emotions and how it's alright if someone isn't happy all the time and if they need to express other emotions too. This lesson is important for both adults and kids alike.
A sequel to "Inside Out" would be the perfect opportunity to explore what life would be like as a teenager for Riley and her emotions. Everyone knows teenagers go through huge ranges of emotions, sometimes within the span of a single hour. Teenagers also encounter numerous changes in their lives. Sometimes they react negatively to them, and sometimes they react positively to them.
There are so many comedic opportunities to portray Riley's emotions as a teenager. The plot and jokes practically write themselves. The chaos within her brain alone is enough to give the audience plenty of laughs. It would also allow for an extremely creative story. Riley's emotions could expand their personalities extremely well as they adjust to the changes in Riley's life and find new situations to react to.
There's also an amazing opportunity to show how Riley's new experiences are helping her to grow into a more mature person. While this may be similar to the lesson from the first movie, it would also be very interesting to explore the lesson of the importance of every emotion in a more mature sense. The teenage years are around the time when people start to feel their first heart break, to get a rush of adrenaline when they drive for the first time, and to feel, essentially, every single emotion at once as they look towards the future. This is something everyone either has experienced or will experience in their lifetime. It's a great lesson for anyone who's scared about their future, no matter their age.
Pixar has always done a great job at making sequels that show their fans that characters have taught them everything they can, and now it's the audience's turn to use the lessons they've learned in their own lives. A sequel to Inside Out can teach this lesson perfectly by showing people how to properly express their emotions and that it's alright to feel different emotions as a person gets older and learns new things. That's the beauty of "Inside Out". It teaches people that balancing one's emotions is extremely healthy and allows them to explore new paths and face new challenges with an open mind. A sequel would teach even more people this lesson and allow for more fantastic story-telling in the process.
