Recently there has been a series of hacks and server take-downs all over the Internet. Ever since the start of this past summer, the infamous hacker group Poodlecorp has been running a muck through the biggest channels and companies on the Internet.
The group went from being unknown to having more than 173,000 followers on Twitter all from one tweet, "Soon ;) #PoodleCorp #Summer2016." In the early summer, many big Youtube channels such as WatchMojo and RedMercy were hacked; the title of every video on their channel was changed to "HACKED BY OBNOXIOUS AND PEIN twitter.com/poodlecorp." As the summer progressed, companies, specifically gaming servers, started being hacked. Riot Games and Pokemon GO were hacked, making logging on to their servers impossible. Even last night, Poodlecorp took down the EA Battlefield servers, rendering thousands inability to play.
Many people ask why Poodlecorp continues to hack and take down services on the Internet. Poodlecorp has not yet responded to any questions on this topic but has recently agreed to an interview with @KEEMSTAR. Many believe the group is only trying to have fun throughout the summer and is just trying to please their ever growing fan base.
But how will Poddlecorp effect you? Mostly you, the common man, will go unaffected by the recent hacks and take-downs, aside from the occasional login error due to server attacks. The major effect it has on you is its message. A small, hardly known, group shows up out of the blue and starts taking down multi-million dollars companies just for the heck of it. The group's actions show how you, a run of the mill person, can go out and do something unexpected, wowing the world.
