Do you remember the days of your childhood, when you and a friend would go out into a backyard and jump on a trampoline for hours? Now imagine doing that, but with about fifty more trampolines. Indoor trampoline parks have become increasingly popular in recent years, and they are incredibly fun.
A couple of friends and I recently went to Sky Zone trampoline park and it was one of the best times I had all summer. Not only is it extremely entertaining, but it is a great way to go out and be active while having a good time.
When we entered, we were not completely sure of all the options we would have. We first signed a waiver and then went to check in. The rates were an affordable price, and we paid for one hour. We figured we would be too tired to continue jumping after a full hour because it was a lot of exercise. We got started jumping on the main trampoline area, which was set up with individual trampolines all connected, and trampolines set up on the sides to bounce off of.
When we first started jumping, we were more timid because we had never done it before, and it had been so long since we had been on trampolines. Once we started getting more into it, we realized there was an area like the picture above, but smaller, and there were dodgeball games going on. We played several games of that with people we both knew and didn't know. No one really cared who they were playing against, as long as they were playing. Additionally, there were basketball hoops with trampolines leading up to them (which were surprisingly hard to dunk on).
And a section where you could jump into foam cubes (what Julianne Hough is doing in the cover photo).
We switched to the foam cubes section and at first it was a little intimidating to jump in, but eventually almost all of us got the courage to start doing flips into them. The most physically challenging part of the day was getting out of that foam pit. It was nearly impossible and took all of your effort. Sometimes you just sit there for a moment, and maybe pretend you're Julianne Hough, because who doesn't want to be Julianne Hough?
Even though we were only there for one hour, we had to stop multiple times to catch our breath. Once we became more comfortable, we would race up the open trampoline area, bounce off the end and race back down the other way. It was like we were children again.
I would recommend anyone go to an indoor trampoline park and just have fun. The only negative aspect (if you consider this a negative) is that it is so physically tiring after a long time, but it is still completely worth it.
It's an inexpensive way to spend time with friends while still being active. I was legitimately sore the next day because of how much you bounce around. I definitely think everyone should find one and go.
