5 Essentials That Will Really Get You In The Fall Spirit

It's finally that time of year when everyone starts replacing summer items with the warmer and much cozier items of fall. Something about the cool weather and changing leaves truly makes us feel like we are ready to embrace whatever major changes are coming ahead. Here are the top five essentials that will get you into the fall spirit.

1. Fall scented candles

There is no better feeling than walking into your home and being flooded with the best scents of fall. From pumpkin spice to sweet apple cider, the aroma truly makes it feel as if fall is, in fact, here to stay. The comforting smell of fall candles will have you in the autumn spirit and embracing the upcoming season.

2. Pumpkin flavored creamer

Come September, our eyes are peeled every time we go to the grocery store and happen to walk down the refrigerated aisle. We are on the lookout for our favorite seasonal pumpkin spice coffee creamer and are eager to scoop up a jug the second it hits the shelves. Something about having just a little splash of sweet pumpkin in our coffee every morning gives us endless tranquility and peace.

3. Throw blankets

The very best fall activity is snuggling up with the softest and coziest throw blanket you own. There is nothing like coming home after a breezy fall day and relaxing on the couch with a cozy fall-time blanket. Having decorative throw blankets throughout your home will create a warm autumn vibe that will leave you feeling happier than ever.

4. Fall decor around the house

In addition to items like candles and throw-blankets, it is great to add actual fall decor to your home. Displaying objects such as little pumpkins or even decorative fall leaves will really get you in the autumn spirit! If you can't seem to think of what type of decor will go with the flow of your home, be sure to check Pinterest for some amazing and crafty ideas.

5. Pumpkin pie

Lastly, one of the greatest ways to make you feel as if fall is truly here is biting into some delicious pumpkin pie. It is a great essential to have in the house and it is the perfect way to feel warm and cozy after a long day of work or class. Whether it's pie from the store or you decided to make yours from scratch, pumpkin pie is one of the best fall snacks!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
