Time has always had a mind of its own
It pauses at times—
Flies as it pleases
Showing favor to no man,
Just riding the breezes
Time has never stood still
So don’t forget
To cherish each moment
that you get
—To love, to hold,
be young,
scared,
bold.
Though with antsy feet and eager passion
We look forward to the future,
We must never ration
The moments of now for unborn tommorows
Who knows?
Your best may be here and now,
The latter drenched in sorrows.
Don’t be in a rush to add candles to your cake
Wake up each morning and appreciate
Who you are right now,
in this moment in time
Not future things
or who you may be down the line
Because once time does with you what it knows best—
Once it has robbed you of your youth, energy, and rest
You may look down the road
And not even know
When your passions began to fade
And your ‘yes’s’ turned to ‘no’s’
Tomorrow is not promised
Now is your time
So do what you do and make sure you shine
For all that you are here and now
And all you will become
Will find you somehow
Some way
One day...
But focus your attention on
Now.
