One of the most under-appreciated aspects of existence is the interconnectedness of the human spirit. We are all given such a wonderful opportunity to obtain our own authenticity and live our own individual lives. We delight in the idea of being an absolutely individual human, no matter how difficult that might be. Despite our idiosyncratic abilities, we are all connected in a way that makes this existence quite unusual and especially wonderful. Nurturing the interconnected aspect of the human existence will ultimately prove to be beneficial not only to the individual, but to the entire world.
As humans, we exist in a collective reality maintained by those around us. One instant of time can be experienced in so many different ways because of the originality of the human existence. At the same time, an emotion can relate to a multitude of different people experiencing different things. We all know what love, joy, sadness, happiness, and anger feel like, yet we claim them as our own when we experience them. When speaking of emotions, it is not enough to say that humans have a mutual idea what they are like. These emotions are fundamental parts of our nature, and understanding that they are universal experiences is the first step in recognizing that humans are far more connected than we would like to think.
This is the beauty of life: that we are separate in existence, but united in experience.
