It was the show that defined ‘90s television and captured the hearts of millions, making us all laugh one episode at a time. ‘Friends’ is a TV classic whose hilarious and quirky characters many related to. Though it’s been over a decade since the show’s finale, its arrival on Netflix and occasional appearances on TV have allowed ‘Friends’ to remain relevant. Despite their many similarities, the characters in the show each have unique, individual personalities that make them stand out. If college majors were the cast of ‘Friends,’ here’s what they would be!

1. Art – Phoebe Buffay

Just like Phoebe, art majors seem to have such unique personalities. They each have an interesting perspective to bring to the table and they aren’t afraid to be themselves. Though we may not always understand them, each friend group needs someone who's an art major!

2. Finance – Chandler Bing

Though many of us may find their passion uninteresting, the people who study finance are anything but dull! Finance majors are just like Chandler Bing: serious about their work and studies but super fun to hang out with. Everyone needs a friend in finance to keep things real while also providing jokes to lighten the mood.

3. Environmental Science – Ross Geller

Students who major in environmental science are just like Ross in the sense that they obviously care deeply about the environment. Their curiosity about the science behind the environment is never-ending. They'll always want to learn more and their quirky passion surely makes for a unique sense of humor that cracks everyone up.

4. Political Science – Monica Geller

With their passion, drive, and love of being right, political science majors are most like Monica Geller! She always feels the need to get everything right and won't stop until she does. She is super ambitious and cares deeply about everything she dedicates her time to. Their seriousness about everything they do surely makes political science majors a source of comic relief for the group. While their friends may laugh at how intense they can get, they appreciate the passion that political science majors have.

5. Communications – Rachel Green

Among other reasons that make it great, communications can be a useful major for people who don't know what they want to do and who want to keep their options open. Rachel Green always seems so indecisive, so she'd be a communications major for sure! Some communications majors may have a solid idea of what they want to do and others may not. But either way, they balance out their friend groups and they'll put all of their passion into whatever it is they may do.

6. Drama – Joey Tribbiani

Drama majors are wacky and they're always up to something! They know the best way to make their friends laugh and they're always down for a good time. Just like Joey, they're pretty laid back and they just go with the flow. Sometimes their friends may worry how they're going to work things out, but nothing will stop drama majors from doing what they're most passionate about.

7. Pre-Med – Judy Geller

Just like Judy, pre-med majors notice every little detail, because that will be a part of their future job! They're very logical and they keep it real with their friends, never telling them something just because they know that's what their friends want to hear. Their bluntness is comical and all of their friends admire their dedication to their studies!

8. History – Jack Geller

History majors can become fascinated by the most random things. Just like jack, they're pretty laid back and they just do their own thing. Their quirky insight is loved by all and they're pretty easy to get along with. They may not know exactly what they want to do, but for the time being, they just love learning about history and sharing what they learn with their friends. Their random comments never cease to make their friends laugh.

9. Photography – Sandra Green

Photography majors always seem to be trying to keep up with the trends, and many of them do! They're just happy to major in something that they love. Even when they aren't trying to be funny, a lot of things that they say are hilarious. After a long time living in the same place, Sandra Green wanted to get out and see more, so photography would definitely be the major for her!

10. Business – Dr. Leonard Green

Even though Dr. Green practices medicine, he has a demeanor similar to many people in business. He knows what he wants and, often times, he won't stop until he gets it. Many people are scared of him, which is only another benefit for him. He's not super into jokes but his stubbornness and unwillingness to budge on what he wants never fail to make others laugh.

11. Marketing – Janice Hosenstein

With how much she talks, let's face it, Janice would definitely be in Marketing! She makes it impossible for people to get rid of her, which seems to be a valuable asset when trying to sell a product. She may be kind of annoying sometimes, but being so persistent is what makes marketing majors so good at what they do. Who knows, maybe they'll even force you to move to Yemen before they let you say no to them!

12. English – Nora Bing

With her successful book sales, Nora Bing would definitely be an english major. English majors have a taste for the finer things in life and they love telling stories. With all of the literature that they read, their sense of humor can sometimes seem absurd, but still hilarious. They're cool, relaxed, and super fun to hang out with.

13. Dance – Charles Bing

Dance majors put their all into what they love to do! Despite their fears of being judged for their passions, they go ahead and major in what they love anyways -- just like Charles Bing. They're anything but subtle and everything they do always seems to be a surprise. Their wackiness makes them super fun to hang out with.

14. Engineering – Gunther

Just like Gunther, engineering majors sometimes struggle to make friends, let alone talk to someone they're interested in. But who can blame them? They spend so much time working, just like Gunther. Even if their friends don't get to see them that often, they still appreciate them! Their sense of humor is unlike anyone else's and that's what makes it so hysterical and special in a friend group.

It's so fun to imagine which major each 'Friends' character would pick and which character we all would be if we based it off of our majors. All of this speculation was just for fun, often based on silly stereotypes about each major. Just like all of the 'Friends' characters, people of each major are essential! Everyone adds something to a friend group and who knows where we'd all be without each of our unique friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
