Identity Crisis

Taking ownership of your identity in Christ.

Identity Crisis
Mikaela Hunt

This past week, I went to the Desperation Conference in my home town in Colorado. Those three days were full of heart cries, healing, miracles, vivacious prayers and the Spirit of God. About a thousand middle school, high school, college students and parents from all across the nation came to this incredible conference.

People were being healed, hearts were being restored, minds were being renewed and souls were being won.

In the midst of it all, I encountered the Holy Spirit. He re-kindled my passion for this generation. You see, we are in the midst of an identity crisis.

As children of God, we have become silent, unmotivated and passive. We have become a generation that has lost sight of who we are in Christ.

We have forgotten the power we have inside of us. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave, healed and restored people is inside of us; it’s inside of you!

When we become new through Christ, we take ownership of this identity:

With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation! The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death

Romans 8:1-2 (MSG).

I don’t know about you, but when I read this I get overjoyed! This is the good news of the Gospel! Jesus took all of our garbage and made us into new creations!

Too many times, we give into the lies that the enemy has told us; that we’re not worthy of forgiveness, we’re too sinful, we’ve done too many bad things, but let me tell you something, God does not look at us and see disgrace, He looks at us and sees His Child! He sees us in the identity He has always created us to be!

The thing about God is that He sees us as pure, clean and righteous creations through Jesus. When we look in the mirror and see ourselves the way God sees us, that is when the grip of the enemy vanishes. We cannot believe the truth of God and the lies of the enemy at the same time. When you speak the very name of Jesus, the devil must flee!

Rise up, declare your identity and inheritance and watch the enemy scurry away in fear!

When we walk into the anointing God has for us, we take ownership of our identity. When we truly believe the plans God has for us, we begin to see the prophetic destinies for our generation.

When we own what Romans eight said, a new power is in operation! We are awakening and taking ownership of who we are! We are warriors for Christ and we are not going to settle for anything less! The devil has become scared of this generation because we have seen God and we are not turning back!

I want to pray a blessing over you. I pray that as you step into your inheritance, that you will not forget who you belong to. I pray that as Jesus wakens you, that any strongholds that the enemy has attached to you will be broken in the name of Jesus! That you will courageously and boldly proclaim the name of The King to the nations! That fear and doubt will not encamp you, but that courage will take charge of your heart and that you will begin to see yourself as God sees you!

Take ownership of your identity in Christ and watch miracles happen and nations change.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
