Call me corny, but I live for inspirational quotes. Apps like Eternal Sunshine and Sprinkle of Jesus are downloaded on my phone and send me motivational reminders every so often. Being a stressed out, overworked college student, I can definitely use some words of encouragement now and again.

I cling to my planner like it's the last slice of pizza. I've always written down quotes from my professors that I find to be "inspirational" so I can look back at them, even when I'm no longer in their class. In my three years that I have been in college, these are some of the most memorable quotes from my professors.

1. "Being in a relationship isn't supposed to be easy."

"Relationships will always be work. I cannot lie to you and say that they will be so easy all the time. It's a push and pull thing. You both have to work at it."

2. "You are what you speak."

"Think about the things you say. Imagine a world where all the words you say show up on your skin. What would show up? You seriously are what you say. People judge you on the things you say all the time."

3. "School is hard."

"School is going to be hard. Your classes are going to be hard. But, I'm here to teach you and tell you that it will all be worth it. No one ever chases any dream that is easy."

4. "Don't speak recklessly."

"Don't talk about things that you don't know about. Don't be the person who opens their mouth and speaks with the intention that no one will question them. Be able to back up your claims. Don't speak recklessly."

5. "You are loved."

"Someone loves you. Your mom, your dad, your brother, your sister, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your best friend. This world would not be the same without you."

6. "You're only 20 years old once."

https://unsplash.com/photos/PGnqT0rXWLs

"Stay young as long as you can, because once you grow up, you're grown up. You can never be young again. You can definitely act young, but you can't ever be 20 years old again. You only got one shot."

7. "Don't do drugs, kids."

"Drugs chip away at your life. Your life is in your hands at that point. Don't kill yourself by doing drugs. You deserve more of a life than that."

8. "Be that one person for someone."

"You never know what someone is going through. They could be having the worst day of their lives and your smile or "How are you?" could mean the world them. Be nice to everyone. Be that one person for someone."

9. "Keep your mind busy."

https://unsplash.com/photos/RpRRgfIWgek

"Your mind needs to be taken care of just as much as your body does. You need to workout your brain. Keep a journal, play challenging games, let your mind grow. Keep it busy."

10. "You are the worst enemy that you'll ever have."

https://unsplash.com/photos/RpRRgfIWgek

"You can only beat yourself up so much. If you think about it, you're the only one that truly knows you. And that means you know all the good things and the bad things about yourself. You're the worst enemy that you'll ever have. Get past yourself and you can do anything."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
