I Got To Meet One of My Childhood Idols

Dear Friends,

The other weekend I was able to attend an event at my college where Josh Peck would be answering questions from students. When I heard about this, people made it seem like it was not a big deal. I didn't see many posters or social media posts about the event, which I found confusing. So I went to the box office and bought a few tickets for myself and my friends, and then after that tickets were sold out in three days.

It was crazy.

Every time I would walk past the box office there would be a huge line right outside of it. People REALLY wanted to see Josh Peck's Q&A session.

BUT it gets better.

Later after I bought my tickets I found out you could get a chance to MEET Josh Peck. Now I loved Drake & Josh when I was a kid. When I was on Vine, I would only watch Josh Peck Vines. I watch his YouTube videos every time he uploads one. The man is a comedy god in my eyes. I needed to meet him.

So I entered a raffle that was free to enter, and then I shared the post of the event on FaceBook, which is basically how I won the meet and greet. They saw I shared the post and realized that I was a vlogger, and they thought it would be an amazing experience for me to see Josh because I am a YouTuber. True story. The workers at the event literally told me that, AND they watch my videos. Crazy world man.

When I got the email that I won the meet and greet with Josh Peck I couldn't breathe and I wanted to cry. Nobody was at the apartment so I posted it and shared it everywhere. It was the BEST moment of my life. I was going to meet Josh Peck. WOO!

So I brought my girlfriend to meet him with me because each winner got to bring one guest. We waited in line for the show for about 2 hours and we got fourth row seats which were LIT. The show itself was super funny. He talked about his career, life, being a dad, Vine, YouTube, and so on. It was an awesome time and probably lasted for over an hour.

Then the time came to meet him.

I was shaking and I didn't know what to say. Literally being able to shake his hand and stand in front of him was just an awesome experience. Yeah, I've met like singers or celebrities or YouTubers before, but Josh was different for me. Again, he was my childhood. I would say his character lines at school and people would laugh. I love the guy!

Anyways, meeting him was one of the best moments of my life. I got to put him in a vlog for my channel (up already), gave him a #YourFriend bracelet, and we got some pictures too! I had so much fun and I am still on the high of meeting him. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to meet Josh Peck. Nothing will ever be able to top that. Unless he like shared my vlog or followed me on Twitter or something. That would be pretty cool.

Anyways, I am grateful and happy right now. I hope you all have a fantastic week and enjoy ya self!

Your Friend,

Al

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
