I Love My Little Notebook

An ode to the one thing that keeps me organized.

I Love My Little Notebook

My notebook...how to describe it? Well, for one, my notebook is not like any other notebooks. It is pink with golden pineapples all over, the cover shines in the sun. I feel like I should give it a name since I am clearly obsessed, but a little part of me is saying that a name is too far. So for now, my little notebook will have to do.

I take my notebook everywhere with me, I feel incomplete without it. I love my little notebook because it is not only small and lightweight, it feels like a friend. And as I am reading this back I know that may seem so weird but listen Linda, this notebook is amazing.

It holds my lists of things, and I have a lot of lists. Grocery, school, holiday, car, online shopping, essentials, and so so many more. Every other page is a list and I am not ashamed. I feel sustainable because I am not always using a sticky note, so who's the green one now?

My notebook also hold studying from classes or ideas of what to do for a friends birthday. Or it has recipes I want to make, or it has little notes my friend and I write to each other during class. My notebook can do so many things.

I write poetry, short story ideas, what I'm feeling. My notebook is there when I need to throw out ideas and opinions and no one is there to hear it. It is also durable and able to withstand my mistreatment of it. I drop my little notebook all the time, and some pages are even ripped or folded. The corners are peeling and the rings have been unhooked.

But it is mine and I love it, so if someone steals it, better watch out. Thank you for reading my ode and love letter to a pink little notebook. I hope many of you also hold a little notebook dear to your hearts. If you don't, do yourself a favor and get one. You'll see.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
