Let's get one thing straight: when it comes to getting ready, my hair and my face disagree with me most of the time. I wake up with the dread of having to get ready. So when senior year came around, I made a change.
I stopped feeling like I had to do my complete hair and makeup every morning. Instead of curling or straightening my hair, I throw on a hat. Instead of a full face of makeup, I stick to foundation and mascara.
Not only has this increased the amount of sleep I get in a night because I do not have to wake up early for my hair, but I also am growing my self-confidence. At first, I thought I looked terrible without some type of heat or style being added to my hair. But now, I can wake up and feel completely beautiful with my natural self.
I'm not saying that nobody should wear makeup anymore. If you enjoy wearing makeup and like to do your hair, you are free to do whatever you want to do! Some people love doing their hair and makeup, and that's ok, too! I am just saying to do whatever you feel most comfortable in and completely rock it!
