16 Times High School Musical 2 Was Summer Vacation Goals

Nothing was the same and no summer could compare to that of HSM2.

It's hard to believe that High School Musical 2 came out almost 10 years ago (August 17, 2007, to be exact). I remember staying up for the premiere of what would be one of my favorite movies to watch during summer vacation. From the songs to the storyline, HSM 2 was the best movie from that franchise. So in honor of middle school nostalgia, I bring you, the 16 times High School Musical 2 gave us all the summer vacation feels and turned them into goals.

1. When the whole school celebrated the start of summer break by starting a flash mob on campus.

There truly was no party like a wildcat party.

2. When Troy gave Gabriella a necklace with his initials on it.

I have never wanted to Gabriella more than in that moment, tbh.

3. When the whole squad got summer jobs together.

And, each person got a job that perfectly suited their talents and personalities. It was literally a dream come true. Thanks, Sharpay!

4. When Sharpay was living her best life and suddenly you wanted towels from Turkey, too.

We all need a little Fabulous, is that so wrong?

5. When you never wanted a pink car more in your life than when you saw Sharpay riding in style.

Seriously, all 10 year old me wanted was to just be Sharpay Evans.

6. Like, look at her family's vacation club.

No wonder she wants fabulous!

7. When Troy and Gabriella forever solidified themselves as #RelationshipGoals

You are the music in me.

8. When Troy got a promotion not even a month into the job.

Okay, so maybe this was Sharpay's doing, but even so, it's the thought that counts. Whether it was from selfish motives or not, Sharpay took care of the ones she cared about.

9. When Troy and Gabriella went on the cutest picnic.

Don't act like you weren't a little bit jealous when they were dancing in the sprinklers.

10. When Ryan made you crave brownies that weren't even real.

I was right alongside Troy with this one, defensively stating I knew that they were good, I've had them before. Leave me alone while I get moody over brownies.

11. When Sharpay made you realize nothing will be as good as Zanessa (Troyella?).

12. When Gotta Go My Own Way was the worst and best song to ever happen to you.

It also singlehandedly made you nostalgic and heroic freeing yourself from a toxic relationship that wasn't even real. And let's be real, you still sing just as hard to this as you did way back when.

13. When Troy and Gabriella got back together and everything was right with the world.

The best summer romance, don't even argue.

14. When Sharpay finally realized everything wasn't about her and became the best sister ever.

Not everything is about the Star Dazzle Award, and Sharpay finally realized that by the end of the movie. Gotta give her props for that.

15. When they celebrated a summer well spent by having a staff pool party.

Seriously, can I just take one quick dip in that pool? Please?

16. When they let go of the paper lanterns and you knew all was right with the world.

All I've wanted to do since this movie is light a paper lantern and kiss a cute boy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
