1. "Good." If they're really curious, they'll ask for more.
2. "Good. It was good!" Use repetition to make yourself seem more personable.
3. "Good. How was yours?" Let them know they're worth more than a flyby greeting but no more than a three-line exchange.
4. "Good. I was just at home." Generic, relatable, perhaps the invitation to small talk about family, friends, the length of break, etc.
3. "Really good! I had a lot of fun." Any more details and you'll get a full-blown conversation.
5. "It was great! I saw this show, and it was so funny." Either the show was really funny, or you really want to talk to this person.
6. "It was really great! My friends and I went on a trip to the city." What city? What did you do? Why did you do it?
7. "It was amazing! My friends and I went and saw this funny show in the city." At this point consider what your conversation partner was asking for. Beware not to overshoot.
8. "It was amazing! My friends and I went to the city, and we saw this funny show about how everything is amazing." Maybe they were asking for it, maybe they weren't, but now they're in too far.
9. "Amazing! It was amazing! You won't even believe what happened!" No, no I won't.
10. "Amazing! It was so incredibly amazing that I can't even describe it!" Good. This conversation is over.
