How To Win As The Impostor In Among Us

Among Us is a mobile/online game that has taken the internet by storm over the past couple months. Memes are all over Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. YouTube gamers are also posting a great deal of videos playing the game with their friends. If you're like me, you play this game constantly and lose sleep over it because you play at night. I find myself consumed by playing this game almost every night! It's extremely fun, so if you've never played it, I definitely recommend doing so.

If you have played the game though, you know that you play as either a crewmate or an impostor. As a crewmate, your objective is to complete all of your tasks before the impostor (or multiple impostors) sabotage and kill everyone. However, as an impostor, it can be hard to successfully kill and sabotage the crewmates without getting caught. I've learned a few tricks just from playing with my friends and watching other people play. Here are some ways to help you win Among Us when you're the impostor.

Make sure nobody is around when you kill. Try to roam around the map and find a crewmate by themselves completing a task. Some of the best locations to do so include anywhere that crewmates can download/upload data (because it takes FOREVER), MedBay when a crewmate is scanning (because it ALSO takes forever), or Electrical. Conversely, when multiple players are clumped together, you can kill and blame somebody else for it.

Make sure you aren't near a body when it gets reported. A fast way of getting around this is venting across the map, but it has to be done discretely. If a crewmate sees you venting, they'll know you're the impostor and will immediately vote you off. For example, if a body is found in Communications, but you're in the Reactor, novice players are unlikely to suspect you. However, more experienced players might find you suspicious, so try to talk your way out of it.

Have an alibi. Choose one player (maybe a friend) to stay by throughout the game. When a body is reported, this person will defend you and advocate for your innocence.

Call others out for being suspicious. In Among Us, the term "sus" (meaning suspicious) is used frequently. This is said when a player is not completing their tasks or is inactive in the chat. However, don't randomly call someone out for being suspicious because it could potentially backfire. If a player is following you around, you can argue that they are being suspicious.

Do not self-report. Experienced players will pick up on this tactic very quickly and will call you out for it. It's better when other players report a body and may even draw suspicion toward them instead of you. In addition, do not call emergency meetings without a reason (even as a crewmate). This will annoy players and they'll probably vote you off.

Don't sabotage the same area throughout the game. I've seen impostors only sabotage electrical during a game. This can be effective, but it's definitely better to switch things up. If bodies are reported in the same location every time, you are likely to get caught. It's easier to sabotage areas that have a timer (like the reactor or oxygen) because once these timers run out, the impostor wins.

Overall, be smart about your strategies as an impostor. Don't seem overly defensive in the chat because it may appear suspicious. At the same time, stay active in the chat because inactive players are more likely to get voted off. Hopefully these tips are helpful. Play with your friends and see if they can figure out that you're the impostor!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
