Kendall Day is on Saturday and Ithaca College students are beyond excited to drop their books and pick up their shot glasses. The end of the semester is approaching and the count down to Kendall Day has begun. The biggest darty of the year is underway and there is so much preparation that is needed in order to make your Kendall Day a success.

For those of you who don’t know what Kendall Day is: 1) where have you been all year 2) did you do your college party research when you applied? Kendall Day was started in 2008 in the backyard of 164 Kendall Avenue. It was on the last weekend of the spring semester, and those who lived on Kendall Ave. attended and even some who didn’t. Eventually so many students showed up that the darty turned into an annual end of the year celebration for IC.

So, now that you know what Kendall Day is all about, here is how you should prepare for basically the best day of the year.

1. Make sure you get all of the necessary refreshments ahead of time

Kendall Day is when some people like to get fancy for the pregame with mimosas, jello-shots and all of those other fancy Tipsy Bartender videos that they saved on Facebook for this day. So make sure you get your alcohol ahead of time so your jello-shots can solidify, to get the orange juice for your mimosas in the morning, to make sure your blender works for those fancy drinks, and plenty of ice, because who likes a warm mimosa?

2. Plan what pre-games you are going to hit in the morning

On Kendall Day, literally everyone you know will be hosting a pre-game. Last year there was Keg and Eggs, and some dudes were making pancakes for people headed down to Kendall Ave. So make sure you know where you are starting in the morning.

3. Wear shoes that you don’t care about

RIP to my black Vans from freshman year. I could not save them from the amount of mud they consumed that very Kendall Day. So wear shoes that you don’t care about, shoes that can get extremely muddy, shoes that can get puked on, beer spilled on, ripped, and wet. Also never wear open toed shoes, that is a bad combination.

4. Don’t pregame too hard

Liquor before beer, you’re in the clear. You have to make it to Kendall somehow.

5. Be prepared to pee in the woods

Unless you know somebody on Kendall who is willing to let you use their toilet, get used to squatting in some grass. And wear pants that allow you to easily squat.

6. There will be a bunch of police, but don’t worry

Last year, there were a bunch of cops roaming the streets and watching college students party on the lawns of Kendall. Don’t worry, they can’t do anything since you are on “private property,” just stay off the main street and don’t smoke weed in front of them, then you are all set.

7. Hydrate

Water is your best friend on Kendall Day. Yes, you can drink as much alcohol as you want, but you also want to drink almost the same amount of water to keep your body functioning. #yourewelcome

8. Eat breakfast

You cannot drink on an empty stomach, that is how your Kendall Day ends early. So line your stomach with some food before you start killing your liver.

9. Have Dominos on speed dial

After you are ready to head back to your room to pass out for the rest of the day, when you wake up you’re going to want some food, and it will most likely be pizza.

10. Rain or shine we drink

The weather is no obstacle for Bombers. So if it is raining break out the rain boots and rain jacket. If it is sunny, I’m ready to count the endless number of salmon colored shorts.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
