I have always liked to think of myself as a very driven, motivated person. But lemme tell y'all- the "spring semester scaries" are REAL.
Spring semester has been commonly known to be the slack semester. You just come back from Christmas break, bellies full and livers damaged from the month of celebrating with little to no motivation for anything.
Here are a few of the things that have pushed me to be productive and make the most out of my days:
Make a to-do list and crush it
Before you go to bed, if you know you have one hell of a day the next day, make a to-do list of all the things that need to get done. Making it before bed is important because it plans out exactly what needs to be done so that you can wake up ready to take on the day!
When you accomplish something, there is a sense of satisfaction in crossing it off your list. Even something as simple as "take a shower" or "make your bed"- hey, at least it's a start!
Wake up at a decent time and EAT BREAKFAST!!!
If you know you have class at 10, don't wake up at 9:30 scrambling to get your books together and make it to class on time. When you wake up in a rush, it throws your whole day off. Give yourself time to get up, get ready, and have breakfast. I am sometimes guilty of skipping this step.
But when your mom tells you "breakfast is the most important meal of the day", it is so true! I've found that eating breakfast makes such a difference in my overall mood and productivity of the day.
Even if you don't want to put the effort into making a fancy avocado toast, even grabbing a Clif bar out the door will make a huge difference- I swear on it!
Set a motivating phone or laptop background
It may seem cheesy and totally meaningless, but a positive little tidbit can subconsciously have a great effect on your productiveness. It serves as a constant positive reminder to KEEP GOING!
If you specifically need a push to hit the gym, set your phone wallpaper as your favorite Instagram fitness guru that could also make you think twice before ordering that Cook-Out tray! My laptop background currently says "Get it, girl" and days where my bed is feeling extra comfy, it is a reminder to get up and go "get it"!
Find time for fitness!
Any form of physical activity throughout the day will leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. The gym is my ultimate punching bag for life! If I'm ever feeling sad, mad, stressed, or overwhelmed, I sweat it out!
Even if you don't have time for a full-out dripping in sweat workout, find a quick abs circuit on Pinterest or challenge yourself with some tricky yoga poses! Even the smallest form of exercise will leave you feeling better and more energized.
Look your best
Look good, feel good, do good-am I right?! Ladies- this doesn't necessarily mean putting on a full face of makeup and spending 15 minutes perfecting your pony.
But even touching up your manicure or throwing on those Lululemon leggings that make your booty pop will give you the confidence to dominate the day.
