I’ve Had 3 Tests In A Week And Was Fine, So You Will Be, Too

Recently, I've endured a week where I've had 3 tests, and I survived. As a student 3 tests in one week is a lot because you can't devote a whole week to studying for one test. I've had to learn how to prioritize, manage my time well, and study effectively, while not stressing out the entire time.

Although I did have 3 tests, the workload for my other two courses didn't stop (I know it's shocking, you'd think they would baby me during this week, since I am an adult). In fact, I had labs for them, and then they both have tests surrounding this week. Yeah, I have 3 weeks of tests, but I am still thriving.

The workload didn't stop, my other commitments didn't stop, my stress didn't stop, and I made it out stronger than ever. I'd thought I would be in pain the entire week, and it wasn't that bad. To give you the full scope of the extent of what I went through, I'd thought I'd give you a breakdown of my week from Sunday to Friday.

Sunday

I started my day doing community service. Then I showered, went straight into studying for my first test of the week, grabbed dinner with a friend, and then went to chapter in the rain. After chapter, I studied for a little bit longer and went to bed at midnight.

Monday

Monday started off with me making coffee in my dorm and going to my first test of the week. After my test, I talked to someone I've met once before in the class about the test. Shortly after, I went to a class that I had a test for on the upcoming Friday.

After the class, I ran to get food before I tutored someone for their test the next day (if you're taking Geology 107 at UD, I can tutor you!) Then I went to my biology lab and the lab took forever because it was so intricate and hard. After that, I walked back to my dorm for the first time that day and wrote in my book to debrief.

My friends and I decided to grab dinner at 6 that day, and we all did work in their lounge. I started studying for my anthropology test by creating a massive Quizlet (over 100 terms). I started tutoring more people in Geology that night. Then my friends and I decided to go to the food store on campus like twice that night because we were all so stressed.

I stayed up till 3 am that night when I had to get up at 7 am for my 8 am. All because we were studying and goofing around for a long time.

Tuesday

Definitely the worst day of the week. I had an 8 am that I sort of overslept for. I woke up with just enough time to shower and brew a cup of coffee to go.

That cup of coffee was a mess. After my shower, I made a large cup of coffee, but I wanted more. I put another K-Cup in and I accidentally pressed large instead of small.

When something like that happens, it creates a mess and my coffee overflowed. When I went to pour some down in the sink, I burnt myself and spilled all over my floor. I was beginning to run late for my 8 am, but I cleaned up all of the coffee and bolted to my 8 am.

Don't worry I made it to my class on time. Then had another class right after, but nothing was eventful. This where my day started to look up, after I grabbed my second cup of coffee from the dining hall, I went to a research meeting. I saw Joe Biden on my way to this research meeting, and I felt like I had achieved a bucket list item for the sole reason that he is Joe Biden.

After my research meeting, I made a new friend who I am doing my research with. Then I tried to do my Geography Homework, but there was something wrong with the website, and I emailed my professor. It was a hassle because we had a test on Thursday and these homeworks were the study guide to the test.

I had a Geology lab after that, and it wasn't bad. After lab, I had to begin to study for my test on Thursday. I had two choices, read 6 chapters of a textbook or copy down every question from all of the homeworks. I decided to copy down all of the homework questions into a 20-page study guide.

That took forever, and I studied in my friend's lounge until 1 am that night.

Wednesday

Wednesday wasn't that bad of a day. It was the day to be distracted though. Classes went fine, and I found out I had a midterm in Geology the next week.

It was also the day where I had to do a lot of my studying for my test the next day. That didn't happen as much as I would have liked, but it's because I got so distracted. I went to go study with my friends and for the 6 hours I was there, maybe 1 hour of studying happened.

I went to back my dorm and I was going to go study more, but instead, I stayed up for four and a half more hours talking to my friends on my floor.

Thursday

It was a good day. I spent the whole studying for my Anthropology exam, and the test I had in the morning wasn't that impossible. I don't want to say how I think I did on it because I am worried about jinxing my grade.

Then I got my group for a year-long project in a club I am in on campus. I am really excited about this project because I get to work with awesome people and it's going to be an amazing project.

After that, I stayed up studying and goofing around with my friends until 1 am. I helped my friend with her homework assignment, and it was a fun night.

Friday

Friday was great. For the first time in the entire week, I got more than 5 hours of sleep and I took my test. To the end the week and day, I left for a retreat to a beach outside of Delaware. It was so needed after this week, and that beach was calling my name.

Overall, I was fine and the week turned out to be great. All you got to do is breathe, and take it day by day. Don't let the exams get to you, or else you won't do well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
