How The Hogwarts Houses Each Deal With Finals

What house is you during finals?

Finals are here, and we're all feeling with the stress that comes with them. That means that Hogwarts students are also going through the same testing that every other student is going through right now. So how does your house deal with the stress of finals?

Gryffindor

Gryffindors are the ones pushing themselves until they pass out. They are the ones pulling all-nighters. They refuse to listen to the fact that people do better when they get a decent amount of sleep. They think they can do better if they stay up "just one more hour" and don't always focus on the right things. Their time management skills are awful and don't take time for themselves unless it is to try to relieve stress through activities that might not be the best for their health (like drinking). Their stress management skills aren't the best.

Some advice, do get some sleep during finals this week. You need it to function just like everyone else. Don't harm yourself too much because of the stress. It could mess up your finals and your semester. Don't do anything stupid just because you're stubborn.

Ravenclaw

Ravenclaws might be the house we characterize as intelligent, but that doesn't mean finals affects them any less than it does everyone else. They're the ones we see staying up late in the library studying to all hours because they know they should know this material, and they have to pass these classes to take what they want to take next year. They're the ones that don't get as much sleep as they should as they pour over textbooks and notes from all semester. They know they have it altogether, but they just have to make sure.

So to the Ravenclaws that are reading this, take a deep breath. Don't overthink everything because you've got this. It might not be your best subject, but you'll get through it. Make your schedule and stick to it.

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs are the ones that organize study groups and make sure everyone is getting through their finals in one piece. They're also the ones that have worked hard all semester and are starting to feel the burnout. However, they also know they're almost done, so they put in those extra hours while trying not to give into Netflix and sleep. They streamline caffeine and make sure that everyone is going to get through it with them.

Thanks Hufflepuffs for keeping your cool during finals season (or at least pretending to). Your hard work is getting ready to pay off, and you'll be ok. Stick with your friends as long as it keeps you productive.

Slytherin

Slytherins are the one that say they are going to pull all-nighters as they try to multitask and make their way through it. They're also the ones that look at the clock around midnight, throw their hands in the air, and say "I'm done!" before turning on Netflix and settling down for a while all while feeling guilty that they're not studying. They feel like they should be doing more because they take pride in their work, but self care is important too and finding that balance is hard.

Make your schedule, Slytherins, and stick to it. Don't try to do too much and it's ok to take some time to yourself. Just don't too much. You're going to do just as well as you usually do, but you have to keep yourself focused.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
