Fashion can say a lot about where someone hails from. Take me for example: my canteen and top made out of a Shamwow probably hints I’m from somewhere that is bloody hot (Arizona, home of the cacti). Guys are no exception to this. Sound cool and informed when you talk to a guy at your next social. I’ve made this flawless (personal opinion) key to determine where your boy made his name.
Today, I’ve decided to feature the lovely gentlemen of Sigma Chi at the University of Florida.
1. South – Cody Palmer
Everyone loves a Southern gentleman. Spot one quickly by his croakies on game day, a Columbia PFG (a fishing shirt for you non-Southerners; I learned this quickly at UF), and a Southern Tide polo for nights out. He probably likes fishing and hunting, and of course, SEC Football. Meet Cody Palmer, Sigma Chi at UF’s token Georgian from McDonough, Georgia. He transferred from UGA. I am very proud.

Cody (left, obviously, with his lady friend, Maddie Beeler) is wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt, Ariat boots, Wrangler jeans and Ray Bans with Southern Tide croakies.
2. North/Northeast – Avery Lewis
Practically the complete opposite of a Southern guy, spot a Northern guy in Ralph Lauren polo with a cardigan on top and a nice pair of pressed slacks. He is one of the only guys who knows what cashmere is, wears a gold chain cross around his neck, and definitely has a taste for the finer things ($300 phone cases, anyone?) Take Avery Lewis, originally from Oceanport, New Jersey.

Avery is wearing Oliver Peoples sunglasses, a cardigan from Saks Fifth Avenue, and a Robert Graham shirt. Sounds like something Chuck Bass from "Gossip Girl" would wear if you ask me.
3. West Coast/lives by the beach – Blaze Walsh
Bruh. This guy is so laid back that he is too laid back to admit he is laid back. Cali chill. Cali swag. Shaka, bruh. He looks like a scene from "Baywatch" and probably has really defined tan lines. Every surf brand like Hurley and RVCA are in his daily look, but when he’s at home he’s usually shirtless. You’ll catch him sporting flip-flops to a bar or a Hawaiian shirt to formal and he probably longboards through the halls of his fraternity. Take Blaze Walsh, for example, from Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

Blaze is wearing Levi khaki pants, a Rip Curl t-shirt, and Vonipper sunglasses. Naturally, Blaze is wearing no shoes and is in the Bahamas in this picture. Chill.
4. Midwest – James Baker
Light wash jeans, running shoes, and a basic t-shirt most likely featuring a school from the Big 10. This guy is most likely from the Midwest or has some connection to the Midwest. He is tremendously down to earth and hardworking and brags about how cool Wrigley Field is. Don’t even get me started on calling soda "pop." Take James Baker, for example: his entire family is from Indiana.

James is wearing a Lands’ End shirt, Levi jeans, and his own words, “I’m definitely rocking New Balances.”
5. South Florida – Dean Sandquist
South Florida is a breed of its own; I couldn’t even categorize it into a region. This may be only relatable to people who attend schools in Florida, but if you do, you can spot a South Florida guy by his pastel shorts or boldly colored skinny jeans, v-neck t-shirt, and designer sunglasses. Put together and beachy become one in the South Florida-guy look. Ask him about Cuban food for a good conversation starter. Take Dean Sandquist who hails from Jupiter, Florida.

Dean is wearing a shirt from somewhere in the Middle East (because, in his own words, he's “cultured”), Polo Ralph Lauren swim trunks, and Reef flip-flops.
And there you have it; a guide to telling where a guy is from based on his outfit choice. Interesting.
