Reaction videos are pretty popular when it comes to YouTube. People just love to see each others' reaction to a video that they have never seen before. As for me, I find them quite entertaining. There's this YouTuber who I watch all the time; his name is Robert Jay Perez. However, he is known as Jay from the Kubz Scouts. He's very popular with playing video games and sometimes he will post "Try not to laugh challenges" or video reactions.
Listening to Kpop for the first time (It changed my life)." Around that time, I knew that K-pop had been on the rise, but I hadn't listened to any of it. So, it was a first for me and Jay together. Jay has a lot of fans who are into K-Pop and he wanted to know what the hype is all about.
He pulled up BTS's music video "Not Today" which is the very first K-Pop song that either of us has listened to. At first, I thought it was just decent. However, one day I was walking to class (since I'm a college student) and that song magically appeared in my head! I kept replaying the song over and over again. Soon, I started listening to more of BTS's songs.
BTS stands for "Bangtan Boys" and is an acronym for the Korean expression Bangtan Sonyeondan, meaning "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" as well. As I kept listening to their songs, I slowly started to realize that I'm becoming a fan. I even started listening to other K-Pop groups like EXO, NCTU, Wanna One and many others!
There are many K-Pop groups for people to listen to. It's great because I love discovering new music and even though I'm not fluent in speaking Korean, it's a very elegant and soothing language to listen to.
I actually like knowing more about the different cultures of people and music. In my opinion, I think it's awesome to get out of your own comfort zone of a genre and listen to something else that you don't usually hear. That is what happened to me with K-Pop and it's very similar to American music, except they speak Korean.
I love the idea of people supporting a foreign music group and making them popular, even if they don't know the language the group is singing in. The different types of music for people to listen are endless, K-Pop is a great one. I'm glad that I came across it and gave it a listen. As of now, I still listen to it. Perhaps, you should give it a chance, and who knows, you might love it just as much as I do!
