For many of us, as early as the day we were born we listened to music from the lullabies our parents would sing to us. Music has always been a fundamental part of life for me. I would listen to music everywhere I went and while I was studying, relaxing, taking showers, worshiping at church, and so forth. It is a common feature across countries everywhere and throughout every single generation, proving that us humans have an innate inclination towards music. Music enriches people's lives in a variety of ways: boosting mood, increasing creativity, and connecting you with people from all around the world.
I have always loved music from a very young age, especially because I also loved to sing. In third grade, I would completely jam out to the songs from Hannah Montana and Demi Lovato in front of anyone who said they would listen and watch. My friends and I would put on imaginary concerts for our parents and siblings for years. Even at such a young age, music had a profound effect on me, bringing much happiness and laughter into my life.
Music allows people to describe how they are feeling in ways they could not before and it also connects people from around the world. There are times where I feel like no one can possibly understand how I am feeling, but then I realize that there are other people listening to the same song I am and probably feeling like I am. Music just reminds you that you are living in a huge world with billions of people; there are communities of people that understand you.
I encourage you to live life like music and learn from its lessons. Music is something that inspires people and lets them escape for those little moments. It can be your best friend in times of need and is always there when you need it with a click of a button. The quote “music can change the world because it can change people” is the positive influence that music has on the world and the people in it.
