How I Spent My Spring Break

Not your "typical" college Spring Break.

My first college Spring Break was officially one for the books.

Through the OU BCM, I was given the opportunity to go to Glen Eyrie.

Growing up, my dad had always talked about this trip--a trip he went on in his college years. Then, I got to college and I started going to OU BCM events. Everyone seemed to be talking about it. Everyone raved about what a good week it was.

Leading up to Spring Break, I began to worry that my anticipation and expectations for the Glen would not be met. However, I am ecstatic to say, the Glen did not disappoint.

First, the Glen Eyrie castle is just as beautiful as everyone claimed it was. Secondly, the spiritual wisdom and adults at the Glen were immeasurable.

My time at the Glen was spent with good friends, wise adults, hiking, breath-taking views, and so much more.

I gained so much knowledge during my week spent at the Glen.

I was challenged in more ways than one.

I was encouraged by the work God is doing in my life and the lives of those around me.

I met so many new faces, from OU and from other Oklahoma schools.

In comparison to all my classmates, my Spring Break was a little different than the "typical" college Spring Break. But that's ok. I came back from my Spring Break refreshed and ready to tackle the last half of the semester, and I came back ready to apply all that I learned at the Glen.

Thank you to the University of Oklahoma Baptist Collegiate Ministry for pushing me and building me up in my walk with Christ. Thank you for all the friends and memories. I'm looking forward to many more to come.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
