Kent State recently had it's midterm week. Ever since then, myself, my friends and the campus as a whole has felt like it's in some kind of slump. The weeks before the holidays where you just want to be home having Thanksgiving dinner and decorating the Christmas tree are the worst. But, the semester doesn't stop and we still have several weeks to go. Here are some ways to try to snap out of that mid semester slump you may be finding yourself in:
1. Get some sleep.
The first way to get out of the slump and get over the exhaustion is to get some rest. Take some time for yourself and get some sleep.
2. Take a social media break.
Get off your phone and log off your social media. Taking a break from constantly refreshing your social media helps more than you think. It will help more than you think.
3. Get ahead of your assignments.
Instead of waiting until the last minute and getting behind, get ahead of your work. It will take a lot of pressure off and you will be able to relax.
4. Go on a walk.
Get outside while the weather is still fairly decent and enjoy nature.
5. Do something for you.
Instead of doing stuff to please others, do something for yourself for once. Take some alone time and just do something that will make you happy.
6. Drink some water and eat healthy.
Stop going out for that pizza after midnight. Also, remember to drink water and stay hydrated. Take care of yourself.
7. Make a study group with your classmates.
Get together with your classmates and form a study group together. Getting through the semester with your classmates will actually help you out so much to have that support.
8. Spend some time with your friends.
While it is important to take time for yourself, also take some time to hang out with your friends and have a good time.
9. Get off campus.
To destress try getting off of campus. Go explore downtown or a nearby city for a weekend or even a day.
10. Listen to new music.
Listen to a new album you've been waiting for will make you feel a million times better and happier.
11. Drink some wine.
Wine always helps make you destress and feel better.
12. Breathe.
Take a deep breath and remember, everything will be okay.
