How "Friends" Accurately Relates To Everyone In College

"Friends" is a staple in this dorm room.

In college, it isn't bedtime until you have watched at least two hours of "Friends" on Nick at Nite. Every night, my roommate and I find more and more scenes that accurately represent the struggles of everyday life for any college student.

1. Don't lie, you've danced this way before.

Everyone has, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. You have the most fun when you don't care!

2. Everyone has that friend that is super comfortable with you.

Whether you want them to be or not. They're the ones who climb into bed and lay their head on your shoulder or go to the bathroom with the door open.

3. People stand way too close behind you in line.

Can't say anyone has ever licked my neck before, but the equivalent for me is someone breathing on me while I'm trying to order my food.

4. When you hear someone telling a story, but you were there.

Uhm ... no? That's not how it went at all!

5. A professor springs a test on you at the last minute.

No! I didn't have any other homework to do tonight. Thanks for the heads up!

6. The days or even weeks everybody has spent talking to someone online.

You know them through a friend of a friend, though, so it's cool. *eye roll*

7. Freshman 15.

When your parents question what you're eating at school.

8. "Growing up" in a nutshell.

That in-between time is awkward. Do you have to start adulting yet? Not completely. So I can still build a fort? Heck yeah!

9. Pizza.

There is never a wrong time for pizza. Ever. Even at 2:00 a.m. after studying for a final all night.

10. How every girl feels at one point in time.

Girls are vicious creatures at times, and it is very hard to think any of them actually like you enough to be your friend.

11. Love is a tough thing to accomplish.

Everyone has felt this way before. It's okay to not have your love life figured out yet! Don't stress about it, and definitely don't "settle" because you're desperate for love like Chandler.

12. When that one person in your group project hasn't done a single thing yet.

I always found the "delete from group" button helpful! Just make sure you inform the teacher why.

13. Your "friend" goes and tells everyone your business.

Apparently "don't tell anyone, please" means nothing. Finding people to confide in can be hard. Choose your friends wisely, people!

14. Worrying about grades.

Well, that "A" isn't happening this semester, is it?

15. After finals.

Christmas break and summer are just around the corner.

16. When you graduate college.

Really though, what do you do with your life now? Oh, that's right. You have to get a grown up job.

17. And finally...

When you found the one you're going to marry one day.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
