22-year-old Christina Grimmie a star on The Voice was shot dead while signing autographs. It is said that she was shot by a mysterious and crazed fan. She was so young and had star potential. Her voice and her story will be missed. I give out my condolences to the family and friends.
The fact that this actually happened is a disgrace. Christina was singing at a venue in Florida where she encountered Kevin Loibl. He approached her with two loaded guns and a hunting knife. This is astonishing, how could this man effortlessly bring weapons to a public venue. Is there any security? This makes me think that many concerts are not guarded properly. It is obvious that 27-year-old Loibl snuck past the security guards with three weapons without a problem. It is also crazy that no official body guard spotted this man. Christina’s brother was the one that tried to put a stop to Loibl’s demonic plan. However, it was already too late Christina was shot dead within minutes. Ambulances came soon after to try a revive her but there was no success.
It is said that after the incident Kevin Loibl shot himself. This constitutes as a homicide and it is a shame that this man will not be punished for his acts of violence. It is unclear as to what Kevin’s actually intentions were that night. All the police know is that he was armed at the concert. He could have had the intention of using his weaponry to cause more damage to other innocent bystanders. If this is true than Christina’s brother may have saved many other lives by jumping in front of this man a tackling him to the ground.
Christina’s brother is a hero! He stepped in at a time of pure panic. He attacked Kevin when he spotted him with a gun in his hands. This proves the unconditional love and compassion that he has for his sister. He put his own life in danger to save her! Even though her brother was not successful in saving her it is true that he will remain a leader. The brother explained later on that he had no relation to Kevin Loibl.
The entire family confesses that Loibl is just a fan and that they have never seen him before. It is unclear as to whether Christina had known him or not. Reporters checked Grimmie’s twitter and did not find anything that stated that he knew her or that he was even following her. As far as we know they have no relation which make the situation even stranger.
This random shooting proves how crazy fans can be. Even though Loibl is said to have no history of mental illness, I think it would be fair to say that he was somehow mentally disturbed. One would have to be to commit this act of violence without having any direct relation to this pop sensation.
This should have never happened. The Security guards should have checked Kevin and made sure that he had no firearms on him. I am very sorry to have heard this tragic story and my prayers go the Grimmie family.
