I have watched many TV series and have become emotionally attached to most of the characters in them. I am currently watching Gilmore Girls and am absolutely obsessed with every single thing about it. If you haven't watched Gilmore Girls, here are a few reasons why I would highly recommend it and if you have watched it, here is why I love this so much.
1. Lorelei and Rory are the mother/daughter goals.
From their sense of humor, to the trust that they have in one another, to their daily routines, they are what I want to have with my daughter. We live in an era where it is rare to have a good relationship with your mom, let alone be her best friend. I am proud to say that my mom is my best friend and that I can talk to her about anything. These two are the epitome of mother/daughter relationships.
2. The love of coffee on this show.
Between all of Lorelei's coffee quotes to the amount of coffee that they are seen drinking, this is me in a nutshell. Stressed? Coffee. Sleepy? Coffee. Can't sleep? Coffee. COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE.
4. Lane and Rory's friendship is also goals.
Lane and Rory have been friends since they were three and they continue to be that close. Lane is spunky and wild and yet, she becomes more mature as she marries and has her children. She is loyal to Rory through it all and is the kind of person that I want as my best friend.
5. Lorelei and Luke's relationship is what I strive for.
Though they have had their rough patches and they do not always get along, they always seem to end up back together. I was rooting for Luke from the beginning of the show and grew even more fond of him as it continued. Luke is basically what I am looking for in a man. He is loving and caring, but has an incredible sense of humor. You better not mess with someone that he loves or you will not here the end of it.
6. I feel like I am an honorary Gilmore Girl.
I have been emotionally invested since the very first episode and I feel like they are my best friends. The love between the characters on and off the set is palpable. Though they all may not be the closest and they have lost a key member over time, they remain tight-knit which is just awesome. Though I not be a Gilmore by blood, I am a Gilmore by heart.
7. Emily and Richard are the cutest.
At first, I was not the biggest fan of these two. Over time, they became two of my favorite assets of the show. Their love and support of Rory, their Friday night dinners, and their drive to be involved in Rory and Lorelei's lives is the sweetest. Emily's spunkiness and Richard's passion for life are two things that make them so unique. I absolutely love both of my grandmas and aspire to be like them as I grow as a person. Rory and Emily's bond is something that I can relate to. Also, I couldn't find a gif of my favorite episode of Richard and Emily so here is a picture instead.
8. The town of Stars Hollow.
The town itself is incredibly charming, but the people in it are spectacular. They all love and care for one another (even when it may not seem like it). You always know that someone will have your back and that you will never face your battles alone. Whether it's Patty, Babette, Kirk, Taylor, etc., you know that there will be some laughs along the way. You can depend on everyone around you in this tight-knit community.
9. Paul Anka.
Lorelei gets Paul Anka after Rory goes to college. I don't know why I love Paul Anka so much, but I die every time that a character calls him that. Needless to say, I will eventually have a dog named Paul Anka.
10. Sookie.
Sookie is Lorelei's best friend. Of course, it is hard to take Melissa McCarthy seriously in this role. I have found a new love for her though! She is by Lorelei's side through it all. Between starting the Inn to Lorelei being the godmother of her children, she will get your heart. Regardless of what either of them are going through, they are able to laugh through life together and to make it out on top. They've got each others backs and are always a hoot when they are together.
11. Rory is what I strive to be.
She is loving and is intelligent. She is driven to achieve her goals and will not stop until she has achieved them. Though her life is not easy and she has her ups and downs, she is able to remain positive and to continue working hard. She is either found eating or with her face in a book. Both of which I also enjoy. She faces each of her battles strong and ready to fight.
12. Logan Huntzberger.
Yes, I am Team Logan. No, I am not ashamed. Though Rory and Logan had their differences, they were the sweetest together. I feel like this was the first guy that was good enough for Rory (and by far the cutest). I would like a Logan Huntzberger in my life, please. At the beginning, I was not sure of how I felt about him. As the show went on, he increasingly grew on me and now I would like one of my own. Is that too much to ask??
13. How in the world could I forget Paris Geller?
This girl is an interesting one. She is her own special form of crazy. Though Rory and Paris hated each other for most of their Chilton days, they still somehow ended up together for life. Paris freak outs are the best freak outs. She is intelligent and aggressive which are two very dangerous things to mix, but you could say that I am on team Geller for president one day.
14. The books.
Rory Gilmore has inspired me to read so many books. She was able to hold intelligent conversations with people even when she was younger. Her studies are her life and she always has her nose in a book. So yes, I did look up all of the books mentioned in the show. And yes, I have three of them on my reading list for this summer! Check them out!

Though Rory and Paris are beyond brilliant, they still struggle through college. They show that you do need an excess amount of coffee, that you have to work insanely hard, and that college is not exactly all of the things that one might think that it would be.
