Holiday Shopping Tips: Gilmore Girls Edition

Holiday shopping for college students can be a real struggle. It's finals week and you're thinking about budgeting and figuring out what to get everyone. It's a tough time but luckily, Gilmore Girls have some useful Holiday tips to get you through these last few weeks.

1. Don't spend more money on gifts than you actually have. Budget wisely.

2. Plan the right time to shop so you can look for deals and aren't in any rush. Being in a rush can prevent you from sticking to budget or finding the perfect present.

3. Keep a list of what you want to buy before heading into the store. You'll be glad for it later.

4. Don't let the mall associates pressure you into buying their Holiday deals. Ask yourself: Do you really need $30 worth of Holiday candles just to get a fluffy blanket?

5. Holiday shopping can work up a hunger. Remember that splurging on lunch after some retail therapy can still hurt your budget for the rest of your gift shopping. Try to eat before to avoid overpriced mall food.

6. When in doubt, ask your mom. You might not know what to get your aunt or if your dad really needs another tie, but your mom sure does.

7. When it's all over, you can feel good about yourself for staying on budget and spending the time and money on spoiling your favorite people for the Holidays.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
