My favorite part about the holiday season is getting to enjoy all the holiday festivities. Here are a few of my favorites!

1. Visit a Christmas tree farm

The great thing about living in Washington is that we're surrounded by so many beautiful trees. It makes it easy to get outside and take a stroll through a Christmas Tree Farm. Enjoy time with your family, sip on some hot cocoa, and then enjoy a job well done when you admire your tree all season long.A Christmas Tree Farm near you

2. Bake cookies

Of course, the best part of the holiday season is the wonderful goodies you get to indulge on! A long family tradition of mine is to have everyone sit around and decorate the sugar cookies my mom made! It's such a fun and easy way to bring your family together!

3. Decorate your home

The holiday season isn't just a time of year. There is so much that goes along with it. All the lights, smells, and love is what truly makes the holiday season so magical! Getting to decorate your home with all of your favorite parts of the season is a perfect way to kick-start into the holiday feels.

4. Snowflake Lane

Bellevue Square

Snowflake Lane at Bellevue Square is an easy way to reward yourself after a long day of shopping! Enjoy the performances from the dancers and drummers, the beautiful parade, and even watch it snow!

5. Zoo Lights

Point Defiance Zoo and Woodland Park Zoo

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is to see all the wonderful lights fill up the dark evenings! A trip to the zoo is always fun, but getting to walk around and see such amazing art made out of Christmas lights is a sight to see! An experience for the whole family to "ooh" and "ahh" at!

6. Nutcracker Ballet

Mccaw Hall

A holiday classic is going and watching the beauty of the Nutcracker! My family is not one to go out and watch ballets all that often, so it makes the Nutcracker extra unique and special since it's something outside the norm. Being able to look my best and spend a great evening in the city with my family makes it all so much fun! It is a great date night idea as well!

7. Winterfest

Seattle Center

The Seattle Center during the holiday season is full of lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy! From ice skating to live performances, it's filled with all of your favorite parts of the holidays!

8. Christmas Lighting Festival

Leavenworth, WA

Leavenworth is one of my favorite places to go during the winter time! Being able to walk the streets and admire the city light up with lights is such a sight to see. Plus, if you're lucky you might get to enjoy the crisp white layer of snow coating the city. A perfect weekend getaway!

9. Garden d'Lights

Bellevue Botanical Garden

I really do enjoy getting to see all the beautiful Christmas lights! This is another opportunity to take your family outside and walk around. It's the 23rd year volunteers have gathered together to put on a wonderful show for people to come together and enjoy.

10. New Year's Eve Fireworks

Seattle Space Needle

What better way to start off the new year than to head to the city and watch a beautiful display of fireworks with your friends and loved ones! Either watching the Space Needle fireworks on TV or going out there and seeing it in person, you're sure to enjoy it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
