Hobby: "An activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure."
This is the dictionary definition of a hobby.
But what, truly, is a hobby?
To me, a hobby is something way bigger than the definition.
A hobby is a part of you. A hobby is something that saves you, that gives you your own support, that reassures you that things can be okay.
A hobby is something that you can always fall back onto, no matter what you are feeling or going through, because you know it will always be there to lift you up, and will never let you down; because it is you, and it is something you have found to bring you great pleasure in life, no matter how small it may seem.
A hobby is something that will be a constant in your life, and is something that will grow and change with you. Stability is important, and the stability of a hobby alone can be, unnoticeably, life-changing.
A hobby is there for you when nobody or nothing else is.
A hobby is one of the most powerful gifts someone can encounter, and it is fascinating to realize how much impact it can have on a person's life.
When a person talks with passion to you about their hobby, don't react negatively or uninterested. This is a big part of them, and it is important people respect and support that.
