Music is the escape we need when life gets too out of control. When I was growing up, these songs floated through car speakers, radios, and headphones. Though I didn’t realize it at the time, these songs gave me an escape from the world I was faced with. The instant I heard them, I was motivated to commit them all to memory, and so I did.
Nowadays, any time one of these songs come on, I have to refrain from throwing myself a mini middle school dance party! People usually say, “oh yeah, I remember this song!” and then tell the time they first heard this song. It’s incredible how we can remember exactly where and when we heard a song.
