Everyone has heard of zodiac signs and horoscopes. They are fun tidbits that you read to see if they truly define who you are. Some people believe every word they read in their horoscopes while others read for pure skepticism. But I think we can all agree -- they are entertaining.

So with that, I decided to do my own take on horoscope readings with this Hipsters Horoscope.

Capricorn: December 22 – January 19

As a Capricorn, you are a patient and sympathetic soul who is often the friend everyone goes to when something is wrong. Your friends can often find you sipping French press or pour-over coffee at your local coffee house while jamming to bands no one has ever heard of.

Aquarius: January 20 – February 18

You are often thought of as the eccentric friend -- you are outgoing and always stick by your pals. You are the one who always finds the local hidden restaurants, bars, or coffee shops that no one else knew existed, but are always life changing.

Pisces: February 19 – March 20

You are the sensitive and mysterious friend in your group. Your friends often wonder what exactly you’ve been doing when you disappear for a while. They don’t know that you are actually a part time DJ at your local dance club -- keep playin' those indie jams, buddy.

Aries: March 21 – April 19

You are the enthusiastic and independent friend, often going on solo adventures or leading your group of friends to some of the best nights of their lives. Your adventures always end up on Instagram, highlighting the coolest and most obscure shots.

Taurus: April 20 – May 20

You are the friend who walks in the room and everyone is drawn to you. You are a determined individual who plays things cool. You wore jogger pants before they were in and had the thick-framed glasses before they became a fad.

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

Gemini’s are intense personalities, who are always down for new experiences. You are the friend who usually has unique stories to tell and can pull just about anything off. You are a starter of trends, like the Taurus, but once a new trend becomes popular -- you move onto the next new thing.

Cancer: June 21 – July 22

You are the hopeless romantic of your friends, who believes in destiny. Being a romantic, you are a lover of man buns, think beards, and A-line haircuts. If you are a man yourself, you probably have one of these yourself.

Leo: July 23 – August 22

You are the leader of your friends and seem to always have things go your way. While some think this would make you arrogant, you are simply a positive personality. You like to blog about issues in the world and people listen to your opinion, whether it be on issues like gender roles or simply in class discussing Chaucer.

Virgo: August 23 – September 22

You are the positive light when things go wrong for your group of friends. You are able to keep a smile on your face and support those around you as well. You love shopping at vintage clothing stores and picking up cool trinkets for your friends there.

Libra: September 23 – October 22

You are the chill one in your group who is always down for whatever. You also like to make sure everyone is getting along harmoniously, making you the piece keeper in your group. You love organizing brunch for your friends at all the hidden local restaurants.

Scorpio: October 23 – November 21

You are the friend who doesn’t let anything get you down. You are honest and expect the same in return. You are an old soul and often think you were born in the wrong era. You were rocking the middle part before you were even a teenager, and most of your wardrobe consists of your mother or fathers old clothes from college.

Sagittarius: November 22 – December 21

You are the large-hearted friend in your group. You are optimistic and honest, but still seek adventure and solitude when needed. You love relaxing in your room and listening to your record player, while you contemplate what your next tattoo will be.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
