Lately, I can’t even wrap my head around how He so intricately and carefully plans out our lives. Even as I grow stronger in my faith and hate to admit it, my life revolves around me. I like to control what goes on and when it happens. I’ve never been able to say this and mean it, but I am mistaken. Letting Him take control (or might have been Him finally just snatching the wheel out of my hands) has been the most eye-opening experience.
I’m not going to lie, it took quite a bit of time for this to happen and it most likely isn’t going to happen overnight for anyone. But, trusting in His plan is much more satisfying than trying to make your own. After all, He is ruler over all and that includes your life. Yes, you. Out of the millions and billions of people here on earth, He has a path for you. This path may not always be the easiest, but I promise it is the greatest.
He has a method of working everything out in ways none of us could ever imagine, mostly because He knows you better than you will ever know yourself. Which to most, including me, is frightening. That means God knows every thought we’ve tried to hide, every bad intention, and the true nature of our hearts. Despite any and all shortcomings, He still loves you and is actively pursuing you.
God isn’t just a bible study you place on your calendar, or a one-hour service every Sunday. He is the amazing father that loves each and every one of His children. You are His child and He has a purpose for you. I know this can sound ridiculous and cliché to several. However, what if I told you that you didn’t have to worry about a single day in your life? That there is someone out there who has a reason for all that has and will happen and all He asks of you is to trust in Him. Fortunately for us, that is our God.
I will admit the biggest issue I struggle with is not knowing. Not knowing about the future or His plan for me. However, He has given me a newfound peace about this. Trusting in Him through the recent struggles in my life has revealed His immense love for me and settled my anxious, wondering mind. I don’t understand why it is so difficult to let go of the reins and let our creator take control of what is His.
What we should be wondering is, “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes,” (James 4:14). Various people may read this verse and hear that their life is not worth much, for they are just this little mist that has no purpose. Nevertheless, that is not the case. Your life here on earth is nothing to worry about because He has control. He is there for you and loves you like no one else.
This verse shows me that our life here is a mist, because our life with Him is eternal and what is greater than that? So why even bother to worry? He’s got your back. After all, He’s got the whole world in His hands.
