In no particular order- Luke Fuller (Leroy Herdman), Jackson Kanoy (Ralph Herdman) ,Evan Mountgomery (Ollie Herdman), Deondre Workman (Claud Herdman) ,Neko Ware (Imogene Herdman), Madalyn Knick (Gladys Herdman)

EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT! A family of four brings turmoil to the church! It all begins with a little boys brave attempt to outsmart a bully who steals his lunch! Upon Leroy stealing Charlie's lunch, Charlie tells him that he gets all the desert he wants in Sunday School. The next Sunday, all six of them show up! Could you imagine? And it's just Allison's luck that Imogene comes just in time to hear about the Christmas Pageant. And just Charlie's mother's luck that George Armstrong's wife broke her leg. Now SHE'S in charge of this year's Christmas pageant! Join all the Herdmans this holiday season at Community Theater Greensboro opening December 9th! With kids as cute as these, you sure won't want to miss this wonderful comedy for the whole family!

This show is different in the fact that it utilizes people of all age groups. Patty Adkins (Stage Manager) comments the following about what it's like to work with children:

"I know it might sound pretentious and maybe even a little stereotypical, but there is nothing more rewarding than working with children. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly moments where it can be quite tedious and moments where you want to pull your hair out. However, there is nothing like seeing a child swell with pride for a job well done on stage. Watching the children gain self-confidence throughout the rehearsal process, seeing them discover how to explore their characters, is the most satisfying experience that a teacher of the arts can have. Oftentimes, putting a large group of children together with such varying ages can result in problems like bullying. However, I cannot speak more highly of this cast. The older ones help the younger ones, more experienced ones help the less experienced ones, and ultimately, isn't that what theater is about."

9-year-old, Maddie Knick, comments the following about playing Gladys Herdman, "I love being Gladys I am usually sassy, but a very sweet girl with a lot of friends. Gladys is mean. She bites, she runs fast, and she doesn't have a lot of friends"

When asked what it's like to work among such a wide range of ages she comments,

"I think it's super fun to work with older people".

Another unique thing is some adults even have kids in the actual show with them. For example, our Mother/ Grace Jennifer Hilton. Jennifer Hilton comments the following about what it's like to work with her own kids on set, "It's great! I love seeing them on stage and being able to share the experience of theater with them. It's a little stressful, but not too stressful. I hope they keep doing this for a long time".

Two UNC Greensboro students take the stage in this production, Danielle Storm (Mrs. McCarthy), and Nathalie Tondeur (Mrs.Armstrong), as the church ladies!

Come show your support for community theater and these fine young college students, and this wonderful cast this weekend and week at CTG!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
