If you're anything like me, you hate mornings. I set approximately 6 alarms and still don't get out of bed in time. These are some tips/tricks I use to get my butt out the door at a decent time:

1. Concealer works as lazy foundation

Concealer can function as foundation! Start with putting concealer under your eyes and on any problem zones, and then just blend everything. This saves time and products.

2. Brows make you look more put together

Investing two seconds in your brows makes you look a lot more put together than you are. They help frame your face, and if you have them under control, you can forgo other make up. I use a brow pencil and gel. I just drawn in some lines to fill in my brows and then I slide some gel on them and make sure everything's facing the same direction.

3. Espresso shots

These are honestly the love of my life. You can buy little espresso shots that you can add to your coffee for a pick me up. I sometimes just pour one or two in a cup and mix with some creamer. It takes just a moment to drink and I'm out the door.

4. Plan ahead

Pack your backpack/purse the night before and plan out an outfit. If you're going to roll out of bed at the last possible moment, have all your things read to go so you can just throw on your clothes, wash your face, and run out the door.

5. Hair solutions

Hair can be a huge time sucker in the morning. I chopped my hair off and it makes it so much faster to straighten. If you love your long hair, learn some messy buns/braids that are cute but easy to do. Have a go to hairstyle or two that makes your life easier.

6. Don't watch TV, blast music!

Watching some TV or YouTube can be a nice way to make the morning less miserable, but it will slow you down. A nice way to speed things up is with upbeat music. Blast some jams and get moving!

7. Checklist

If you're like me, you likely stand in the middle of your room looking around, trying to make sure you didn't forget anything before you leave. Write yourself a checklist the night before of everything you need to remember to do/take with you. This way, you can minimize the time waste of trying to remember!

8. Blush on your eyes

This is a random hack that I enjoy. Eye shadow takes time, and if you hit snooze 10 times, time is something you don't have. Dust a sparkly or light blush on your eyelids instead of doing a full on eye shadow look. It'll make your eyes look more awake and it takes less time!

9. Shower at night

I often take longer showers than I intend to, so I always shower at night. This way, I don't take way too long in the morning. Waking up with dry, clean hair makes the morning go faster.

10. Tinted Chapstick

Tinted chapstick is your best friend. Lip color can be annoying to maintain, but tinted chapstick rocks. Keep your lips moisturized and give yourself some color. It'll make you look a little more awake/put together and tinted chapstick usually fades well instead of looking awkward like lipstick can.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
