I Hate The Show OITNB *SPOILERS*
Netflix

Season one, Episode one “I Wasn’t Ready”. The name of this episode is completely fitting for a teenager who got a little queasy watching the bachelor make out with every girl his season. Lets just say the first scene jumps right into it without hesitation. Taylor Schilling’s boobs are shown majority of the first two minutes of the show. After the shock value of the first few minutes went down, I continued to watch. Because I figured every other scene would consist of jail shower sex, I cautiously continued to watch. Naively, I figured I would watch the first episode, you know, see how Piper got into prison and then stop watching. Little did I know I already met one of my favorite characters--Taystee Jefferson (Danielle Brooks). Soon I would meet Daya Diaz, (Dascha Polanc), Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyone), and Gloria Mendoza (Selenis Leyva). These are just SOME of the amazing characters in the female powerhouse cast, "Orange Is The New Black".

I hate this show. I hate this show for making me fall in love and completely sympathize with drug dealing, heroine addict, thieves and MURDERS. LIKE I END UP SYMPATHIZING WITH MURDERS. STONE COLD, HEARTLESS MURDERS.

Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett. The one who did the unspeakable act of cold blood murder got my utmost sympathy and pain when Officer Coates took advantage of her. When she was empty inside, alone, I felt her agony. I, along with all of the others watching, realized she is a human being. While her actions were heinous, no one deserves to be treated with such disregard. Her character development went from someone who I could not stand to now someone I enjoy seeing, especially with her new best friend Boo.

Suzanne (Uzo Aduba) initially took the role of quirky, compassionate inmate when she gave Piper those spicy peppers. However, that went downhill fast. The next time we would see Suzanne, she would fittingly assume the nickname “Crazy Eyes”. After inhaling Piper’s armpits, throwing her pie at Alex, threatening to cut her and finally peeing on the floor in Piper’s dorm, I wrote Crazy Eyes off as this psycho character who would be nothing more.

Of course, in what world would a floor peeing, pie throwing, armpit-sniffing inmate be one of my favorite people? In this show, that’s where. I hate that I absolutely love Suzanne now. I don’t even know when it happened. Was it gradual? All of a sudden? I couldn’t tell you. What I could tell you is that whenever there is a scene that stars Suzanne I get super excited- she’s beyond funny, good-hearted and means the best.

(Obviously she wasn’t my favorite person Season four, Episode 12 with a little over four minutes left in the episode; however, I am actively ignoring that whole situation).

Ultimately, I hate "Orange Is The New Black". I hate it for proving me wrong in every aspect. Obviously, I love this show. I love how it opened my perspective to so many ways of life. Yes, it is not based 100 percent on an accurate story. However, it still opens the public up to some aspects of prison life, a life many are completely ignorant to, me for example.

I love this show, and I cannot wait for Season five.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
